Just picked up my 2014 ohlins (we have them as ZZR 1400 here in SA) Unfortunately only the black and green version but still super sexy. They tell me to take it easy for the first 1000ks then its time to lose the huge exhausts.

Nice Bike! untamed got the same in white a month ago! a really trusted mechanic said to me the 4000 rpm is not right he asked what I was doing on a ride with him and several others two weeks ago! he said dont thrash it! dont labour it! but ride it hard as it learns to be how it starts out! before he told me this I varried the rpm up and down constantly up to 4500rpm,but after 300kms im riding as he states, he also won the 250 speed class on his RGV250 the last two years so he's not a fake!plus i've read many cases of oil burning when the go from lame (running in) to thrashing when the are run in

Thanks Bean07, I really like the white,it looks super cool. I see there is a burnt orange version as well. Like i said we are limited by what Kawasaki South Africa bring in. None the less took her for her first run this morning and rode like a girl, no let me correct that. Even my wife rode faster than me on her Honda 750. Coming from a 194 hp ZX 14 this still feels a bit tame, almost like my old ZZR 1100(but with steroids) yet very smooth. Im sure that will change after running in.
Thanks for the running in info, will take it easy and after 300 kms will give her some more throttle. It makes sense to me. Never owned a bike from new so never had to run any inn. Did you keep the standard headers on?

Yes im a 51 year old power junky lol I think the slips are good enough for me these babies stock are insane anyway IMO this is my third ZX1400 I had a 2010 then a 2012 ZX1441R up to four weeks ago!.cheers
