DUNLOP ROADSMART III 500 MILE REVIEW
06/08/19 7:44 PM

Hi everyone just put these on my 2017. But 1st I ran the Pirelli angel gts (A) I ogt about 5,000 miles on the rear and 9,000 out of the front. These tire were great and could not find any negative features. So the angels set the bar pretty high

OK now lets talk Dunlop. Ist thing I did was measure the tread depth R-7MM F-4. That's one mm deeper than the pirellies. So how did they do in the twisty????. About the same as the pirellies. they stuck like glue. Also their about $50.00 a set cheaper. So the unknown is mileage. and wet roads. Stay tuned for my 3,000 mile review

I'm going with Bridgestone RS-10s next. Probably will not last like the tires you mentioned but very good less expensive alternative to Pirelli Super Corsas, I hear.

I'm like minded. My previous set were PR4 and I got 12k miles on front tire and 11k miles from the back tire. Dunlop Rd III are advertised as better than PR4 for wet grip and long wear, plus, offered a $60 prepaid card. I've got 5900 miles on my Dunlop Rd III and hope to surpass 12k miles.
Years ago when Dunlop Sportmax tires first came out. I put a set on my 89 zx10 Ninja. The front tire wore like Iron. I put 18k miles on that tire. It still had the center groove when I removed it. I removed it because it wore to a "V" shape and was scary in corners.
Tires are a personal preference, like the subject of Oil in the crankcase.

4,000 mile review

I down to 2 mm rear 3 mm front. However, I had my ECU reflased (Schnitz) and it will takes its toll on the rear.
This tire will last longer than the Angel GT's. Especial the front, which should last about 10,000 miles. All in all I am very pleased with this tire Concidering it less expensive than the GT's

How in the hell do you guys get that kind of life out of tires? I’ve been through 5 rears and 3 fronts in 16,000 miles. Not a single burnout either.

Original Dunlop sportmax
2 Pirelli angel GT’s
1 Michelin PR4
Now on a Michelin Road 5

I will say the Michelin’s last the longest out of all so far with the original Dunlop being the worst (1800 miles)

Do you have chip seal on your roads?

Mine have been lasting me about 4000 miles and that is some real soft tires like Super Corsas. No commuting, just sport street riding. I might get 6000 out of more street oriented rubber.

I get about the same mileage as nastynotch on Dunlop Q3+'s. Fabulous tire for grip and neutral turn in. I'll sacrifice mileage for the extra insurance of grip.

Mounted my RS III last year. I have 7984 miles on front. A new tire has 5/32" tread. I now have 3/32".

Back tire has 6448 miles. New tire has 9/32" tread. I have 7/32".

I'm just a traveler.
Great handling in the wet, too.
