06 ZX-14 "Stealth Reaper"
12/15/11 2:14 PM

Just wanted to share a few pics of my bike & to start a thread as I progress in modding it. My riding buddies call it the stealth reaper due to it's flat stealth like paint & the reaper skull. Which is fine with me because it always reminds me to treat it with respect or it could take my life.

I recently picked this bike up from my cousin who used it to promote his tattoo/airbrushing business. I stole it for 4k as it had less the 2k on it. Which leaves me some money for some mods. He already had the bike re-sprayed satin black & did some airbrushing on it, but besides that the bike is stock. I already started to make the bike more my own, by putting my spin on it. I always wanted a monster edition, so I'm making a clone version. So far I've done:
-green demon eye headlights, green led running lights
-modded stock rear fender
-monster blade levers, fuel cap, seat skin
-chrome blade heel guards
-spike: triple tree covers, windscreen bolts, sliders, swingarm spools, bar ends, oil cap, front axle
-res caps/covers
-frame plug set
-custom rear pass peg block off plugs
-driven grips
-fat 300 foot pegs
-cycle pirates shift/brake lever
-hid high beams 6k
-voo doo exhaust
-custom black on black decals

and this winter I plan to add:
-monster energy wheelset with vortex sprocket front/rear
-gpr damper
-dynojet PC-V & ignition module, BMC filter & a custom map
-green brake/clutch lines
-muzzy fan
-green ek 530 chain
-lower bike 2"

I don't want to put too much $ into it now as I plan to buy a wider tire swingarm kit, pm wheels & a turbo, but that's still about a season off. This is a bike I plan to keep for the long haul even if I pick up other bikes down the road.

Just did the seat skin today:

and some of the parts are now just starting to arrive for my winter project:

Once, I get it all done I'll break out the good camera & will get some proper pics up. I gotta say I love this bike. I've owned mostly 600's my whole life except for a triumph S3 for a short time & this has been my favorite without a doubt. The only faster bike that I've ridden was a BMW S1000RR that I had for a weekend as part of a demo. I really enjoy the relaxed touring style ergo's of the 14 as I do alot of longer rides so it's perfect for me. I'll prob pick up the BMW too, so I can have the best of both worlds. That's why I bust my hump at work to enjoy myself in my free time on my toys.

I value this forum for the great info here in helping me on my build, thanks!

Thanks ChuckA!

Put the GPR damper on tonite took about 5 minutes, but it'll be good insurance just in case. I also broke out my better camera for a good pic of my airbrushed front cowl. I'm debating having the front fender done too, but don't want it to be too much. The guy my cousin used to paint the bike did a great job even using matte clear on the airbrushed parts to keep in theme with the rest of the bike.

Just got her back today from round one of my winter mods. She made 185whp on the dyno, but I hope to make more with the custom tune. She's on a basic dynojet program now, but running much better & zero poping from the voo doo. Big difference with the sprockets, bmc filter, flies removed & the PC5 etc... Didn't get on it too much with the cold roads & new tires.

Next up is to get the bike lower with a strap kit & brocks links, mps shifter install, muzzy fan & then have it custom mapped. Just ordered my kill box & I'm excited for the spring. Still saving up for the swingarm/wider tire & turbo.

You realize the handling will go away when you lower it and put a wider rear tire on it?

I'm sure the handling will be reduced. I'm also sure this bike isn't everyones taste, but I'm in the tattoo business p/t & it fits my personality. This bike is still great fun to ride & I get asked about it alot. It's becoming more of a theme type build especially after I do the wide tire/turbo, but after those parts go on she's gonna be more of a bike night/drag strip kinda bike. I want to pick up a new kawi 14R for a more practical street bike.

That's just black stomp grip on the side of the tank. I got it direct from their website. You can get black or clear.

^^^Thanks he def loves sitting on my bike. My wife says whenever he sees a motorcycle while their driving he says dada which always warms my heart. She just doesn't want him to ever ride one on his own like any good mother.

I've never touched my pegs down in 4 years on my ZX14, most of the riding in the mountains on the twisties.

From what I've read 2" is a bit too much for the front without replacing oil pan with a cut down pan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have not dragged peg on my 14 because I think with the stock peg positioning you will scratch faring as the peg folds but on my old 600 and 954 I will all day long!Sorry I did not clarify!

I was gonna lower the front too, but just decided to go with brock links in the rear & a strap kit up front. Just want to get it low enough where I'm not tippy toeing when I come to a stop. The strap kit will be more or less for the track.
