RE: ANYONE GUT THEIR STOCK EXHAUST CANS FOR BETTER SOUND?

Yes, I gutted one pipe. Kind of a fake 4-in-1 if you think the fastest path of least resistance. No, it did not affect performance. You could take a billy club and stick it down the pipe and it will stop. So, I do have it muffed both with a cut internal and a smaller diameter outlet. I can adjust my sound pitch buy the bearing used.
I have you covered if you think you have to spend the big bucks for a lighter weight system. No one has a handle on the sound wave or HP curve. Way too many combos.
Yes, I removed one side of the exhaust, plugged the one end, Used the gutted pipe alone = Still did not affect performance. Now, if you mod, then that sound wave will make more of a vibration, whereas if you kept the other side on, that would more act like a bladder and smooth out the pulse or vibration.
Once you try that first cut on the stock pipe, there is no turning back. Weigh what mod you attempt and how a few bucks either way puts you back to stock. So, do a little homework and price a new pipe [say technically, you cannot find a used pipe] against a set of slip-on style pipes or a full 4-in-1.
