Crank position rotor 210070066
11/28/12 6:47 AM

Whilst doing the valve clearance service I somehow have managed to knock a tooth off the crank position rotor, despite being very careful and only turning the rotor nut with a 17mm socket (no need to lock it up like a car).

I have found where to order a new one, but can anyone tell me how to get it off?

Is it a reverse thread, what's the torque, how do I lock the crank in order to remove the bolt?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Standard thread...lefty loosy, etc.Put bike in gear...roll backwards till it stops.Chock the tires.Impact wrench....blip...yer done. You might get by with a socket wrench...maybe...you could try that..or...a closed ended wrench with a 'breaker bar' attached. One quick strong pressure slam on that nut...it should come free.I would push the force downward,as opposed to pulling up on the bar.Impact wrench is truly the way to go.
