The bad thing about performance mods is unless you specifically let the insurance company know what you've done to your bike and document it with pictures and receipts, then they will only give you the depreciated value of a stock bike if it is stolen. I had this happen to me when my highly modded Dodge Charger was stolen a few years ago.

I sent my insurance company a list of every mod. They said thank you, but in the event of a theft we don't cover them. Unless of course if I was comfortable with a significant increase to my insurance. Ie 5000 wack ums.
