170 something. But what I love the best is looking down at about 160 something [fading only the fronts] cause I was way too fast and the intersection was coming up quick. I'm too old for this! I stopped attempting that one for awhile maybe forever. Now carry it in @ 120/130 and under.

Hit the limiter. Looked at the speedo in the low 180's and held on until it didn't want to pull any harder, then let go. Things were happening a little too fast and I scrubbed it off pretty quick; I'm just too old and not doing it on the track. I have to do it with each bike just to satisfy that dumb curiosity, then don't really spool it up that high again, at least with the stupid fast ones. Anything over the ton feels pretty damn fast now. But good.

according to my speedo, 183, but I think it was really closer to 175. That was on my CBR 900.
I am still breaking the ZX-14 in so I will see what she can do after a few hundred miles.
The 900 has served me well, but it is time I retired her. She is not so pretty anymore.

My top speed was 190something but at the speed who is really looking. This is something I only do once or twice a year to open her up to the new season and see if the kid still got it. The roads up state on 87/the northway heading north are the only place you can really get on it some what safer if the makes sense...
I hope everyone is save in doing these high speeds.
To all be safe!!

175 on the speedo last summer.........past a statie shooting radar. He never pulled out and no lights came on,I think he was focused on the gixxer trying to catch me.Needless to say the bike was parked for awhile and a different one with different gear was ridin. Not to many places to open up a 14 in Conn..

150's every now and then is good for me.
And that's generally to teach other bikers who's the boss... lol

200+ mph with my modified ZX11, on CA 280 beside a then rare brand new F1 Ferrari convertible. The Ferrari had more top end, so when I peeked out with the needle bouncing around 200 mph he indicated 200 mph and pulled ahead of me.
He also had way better brakes, because I was the one who soiled himself trying to come down to merge into the Sunday morning church traffic trying to get off 280 into San Jose. That 1/4 mile seemed like it lasted an eternity.
Not going there again, once is enough. The ZX14 can just motor around 140ish once in a blue moon and I'll be happy.

Well...from another member here...yes...a Law Enforcement Officer...and I quote..."you can't stop what you can't catch"...WEEEEE!!!I think "they" all know my bike by now(here). It's the one with the American Flags flying proudly along her flanks. You know..."heresay" won't go very far in a court of law anyway.I still respect the Police...and Hwy Patrol...and Sheriffs. They gotta deal with bunches of friggin drunks on the roads here, and clean up the aftermath of drunken driving.Hats off to em! Always Props to those guys!I've been let off here more than I've been ticketed...that's for sure.I would NEVER run.

I'm sure they know you are safe doing those speeds. Plus, some assume you might hurt yourself, so don't get all upset they joined to save lives and are concerned about your well being that said...
... I, on the other hand, give plenty of room and leave lots of gap I do not collect anyone. I'm just looking down watching 140 come up in the dark I love it! Gotta face all the odds and just keep it pinned so you can sign off, ride over. All in a few seconds every stinking time I get on that bike.
Shadup fuzzy! Go catch the car phone type-0 looking for blood. The faster I'm off the road... bla-bla HA!

I guess I was more just looking out for the welfare of our members here than anything else. Evidence such as originator's IP address, username, location, etc etc can be used against you in the court of law. I want to do [warn] all I can so the brethren don't find themselves in that situation. I've just seen too many lawsuits involving online posts that make me paranoid about what the idiots that don't have a clue about motorcycles are capable of.

I was heading home this week when I noticed a black bike behind me, I would let him catch up them blast away for about a mile then slow down and let him catch up. I did this for like 25 miles with all the luggage on my bike. At one point I might have been doing 160 but I wasn't going for max speed. He ended up pulling off the same exit and came right up next to me and asked what I was riding (he was on a flat black Speed Triple). ZX14 I said. He says, Man that thing is FAST! I said, yeah the luggage slows me down a bit, didn't want it blowing off and hittin ya in the head! I think he said something like Jeesh and then we took off again. Of course, I know the bike is fast, that didn't surprise me. It's just that I suddenly realized he was really trying hard to keep up and couldn't because I would just walk away from him like he was running backwards. Big fish babay!
And that was prolly the fastest I've been so far. I restrained myself only because it would be enormously embarrassing to have my top case go flying up in the air and all my gym clothes spread all over the highway. There really isn't a road that I've found yet where I live that's straight or long enough to max the bike out safely and where I'd feel under full control. It's also usually very windy here next to the big lake which doesn't help. I usually do quick blasts up to 130-140 when no one's around on roads I'm familiar with and don't have hidden driveways and such. That's enough to get my blood pumping. Wrecking a bike for glory just isn't worth it to me.
