2017 Kawasaki 14R end of a cycle?

Anyone here any rumors yet? I wonder if they are going to modify and make a smaller and more modern fairing? What has it been, 5 years since changes?

it has been 5 years but we went 6 years before that happened. As long as the 14R is generally percieved as being better than the competition, I don't see any motivation to upgrade it further. It would be cool to see it become more competitive with literbikes. I'd be all over a stock 14 that outaccellerated 1000s at all speeds even if it was still a heavy oaf.

The H2. And the current 10R probably keeps pace up to 160mph.

This is what I heard tell... "More HP or I sit on the sidelines," said the barking back pocket of these trousers. Y0u tell'em, Wallet!

He also said today's current 'most powerful production bike' more runs like heading over to walmart and riding a fat chick is what you're riding now. Flash my ass ain't gonna make it either. Fat and Flashe is the next model. Not in my garage!

The H2 isn't as quick as the 14R as far as acceleration is concerned. The 10R can keep pace, but only if the jockey is 130 lbs or lighter.

never seriously raced any but my impression from what I've been reading since 08 is that pretty much all stock liter bikes spank a stock 14 from 70 mph up to about 160-170....which is stiff competition in any race I would do. If you start from a dig, well that's different.

well "spanked" might be a bit of an overstatement but they sure are not outmatched if you look at rollon races on youtube. The S1000 and the 10R for sure. What we have is low end grunt.

+1 Mav, generally in the real world you are not out running the 14r below (insert quarter mile trap speed here). I honestly have no desire to go any faster than I would trap in the quarter so not sure who owns the above 160mph game. Only exception might be the H2 with the brocks bolt ons and savage mode. That might actually be a little faster but not without some swingarm adjusting. Not sure how we are going to compare a bike that is at least double the cost for similar mods. Do you want to own one H2 or two 14r's (one with a turbo). The cost is probably similar if you shop around for parts.

All 1000s are way off pace through the 1/4 at the track. Source: Personally spanking lots of them.

So is it safe to say that below 70mph nothing can beat a 14R? Except maybe a Superduke 1290?

I am anxious for the updated model to be released upon an unprepared public

As I've said, I will only be trading my 2012 for a revised 14R.

Glad I've gotten over my itch to trade for s Superduke or Diavel. If I had traded, then the revised 14R would come out and I'd be kicking myself; regretting not holding out for the revised version of the apex predator of sportbikes

Good good things come to those who wait
