PC III USB map
10/28/11 12:59 PM

I have my fuel pressure sorted and still the bike runs bad ,I am not so sure the map is good for this set up.
I have standard motor runing 6psi on 98 octane fuel (UK octane, just over US 93)map and set at 42psi. oh its from ........saratosa!
Please does anyone have another base map I can try as this one must be miles out its hellish rich and smoking the garage out, Not oil smoke by the way! so if anyone can let me try another PCII map as a base that would be coola
Thanks

Hmmmmmm it appears I have two stuck injectors, hence the high llambda figures I was getting,
Anyone have any injector info ........would be happy to run standard but would be better to run slightly larger ones

What injectors are using the 330cc or 440cc. Turn your pressure down to 38lbs and report back

Not sure what size maybe you can help they are the standard ones whatever they may be?
Wondering if it is oil..........
Am going to check the llambda sensor , make sure if does read normally which I am not sure it does not at the moment.
Are there any known problems with excess oil volume to the turbo{ im thinking seals) or even oil grades used with the turbo?
Anyone know if Subaru nippon 440cc injectors fit the 07 14?
And Im still looking for a starter map for a pc III?

Yes, Thin oil will fill your Turbo as it flows through the restrictor to fast. I made that mistake = White Smoke. Look down Exhaust pipe. Look in the turbos compressor side. Look at your Air filter. If you see oil,,,,,,,

Scroll down to you see my turbo, oil drip coming out = To Thin

If your fuel injectors were fine before what makes you think there is a problem.

We will get you fixed up, just a bit hard on line but we will get it.

Cheers for you ongoing help, what grade oil did you end up using and did you put in an extra restrictot as i have the cycleogic valve installed in the oil pan same as yourself.on some cars we use a 0.9 mm restrictor for the oil which is basically the adapter screwed into the top of the centre housing on the turbo.is this how you would have done it or is the cyc..: adapter in the oil pan enough?
Looks like I have plenty of little jobs to do when I get back!!!!

adapter in the oil pan enough?

That is all I used. The only thing I did different was the return line location. The Bottom of the pan with that 1/2 inch spacer is not good. Mine is now welded in the side. This gives back the groung clearence. I also ground the oil pan tab off. Spinning wheelies come down hard. You will see. Also takes a long time to clear that oil out the Turbo. Your AFR gauges will swing wild when drip of oil hit hot pipe.

Look how far that bolt sticks down. That is now changed.

Romans , dont know if you can give me the heads up, am back home now after stint away with work ,last time this year so am starting to get on with the bike again, just looking over a couple of things last night and I see
1. The fuel pressure drops off immediately after the fuel pump stops. Standard it should hold fuel presuure for a while. Certainly thats the norm on any injected system.!
2. Ive looked down the ports and cant see any injectors leaking now.
3. Does yours hold fuel pressure after cranking? mine is dropping off immediately!
I have clamped the return line and this ramps up the fuel pressure and holds fuel pressure after the pump has stopped then when I release it, the pressure drops off.
Cheers again

Mine Drops, same as yours. As long as your psi is good while engine is on and rises under boost = same.

Ive posted a note in the maintainance section on this, seems injjectors have power but not being earthed......
dome and gloom. put light across connector, no flashing at cranking, spark ok ,fuses earths and connectors seem ok.
any ideas

RE: PC III USB map

should have said , I disconnected the pc III and still have the prob.
I also have used a device to pulse the earth on number 4 injector, and it pulses feeding fuel ( seen down the throttle body)
Im going to swop the ECU from my other bike and see if that sorts it ....begining to think ECU
Do I need to change immobiliser and key also?

Cant see why it should be ,but if the spark signal is fine then you would (asume!!!???) there is signal to ECU and hence instruction to pulse injectors, but if i have continuaty at ecu terminals on the pulse side and battery voltage on the other side then would you reckon ecu ? Or what other factors would stop injjectors pulsing,?????

Getting a little dispondant with this project now...

cheers Grin

RE: PC III USB map

Bad had ECU issues as well, cost him 2 motors, maybe he will chime in. I don't get it, you were running fine before project started,,,,, Why Now ? Nice to have second 14 to pull parts off. Great for testing. If this ECU starts other non turbo bike that will narrow down the guessing quick.

Or what other factors would stop injjectors pulsing,?????

Pull ECU plugs and take a look inside, did it click fully when removing pc3 ?

Kick stand down switch wire get damaged, kill switch ? Not sure where or better yet when these come into play, before starter ??????????? Not sure I would follow with meter just like you are doing, then change ECU, but that does not answer the why now ????? Got to be something simple. Sorry, hard over the net.

RE: PC III USB map

Electrical issues usualy are simple once you have found the problem. and I havent yet!!!!!
Right today I was doing a litlle testing, I have the tank lifted but connected, ecu out and connected, battery part way out all connected.left side bar above water resevoir off to gain access to plug with injectors.
I happened to pulse all the injectors ,testing what i have already done, got fuel down all the bores and hey presto the bloody thing cranked into life! smoking like f.....
So it seems at cranking the injectors are not operating , once running they seem to work ok.......any one seen this?
got to be a power or ground issue me thinks.....
After running for a couple of minutes I stopped it. put the above parts back together and guess what it wont start!!!!
oh on another note previous with Romans I took the exhaust away from the turbo ...........wow so much oil in there
gonna have to check the pump to see if its removing oil, ive heard these are not too reliable. I would think its coming from the exhaust side seal on the turbo hope ive not blown it...(inlet side is clean and dry)
and so is the air box.
begining to see some ligh tat the end of the tunnel!

..wow so much oil in there

What oil are you using ?

check the pump to see if its removing oil, ive heard these are not too reliable.

That little pump when working will do the job over and above. Check in and out don't mix up or you will be filling the turbo with oil. Bearing will rattle on pump before it goes or least mine does now lol. I have two spares one is the same and other is a gear driven pump. Much better pump but heavy and needs adapters.

seal on the turbo hope ive not blown it...(inlet side is clean and dry)

That's what I thought at first. It will be fine. Shes tough.

All these little things will make you nuts but when your finished you will love it.

Cheers Romans , good to know some people have had issues before with these teething probs. is your little pump situated in the end on the right mounted from the 10mm bolt in the crank case mine does not seem to suck very well .(turned it round and it pumps well from sump side)doesnt seem to go so well from the turbo side .....its going long way uphill???
anyone know of a better pump other than going for the gear driven big one?
May look around for another one....any suggestions?
Still not sorted with whats going on with the injector problem ....back at work tuesday, so will have to wait until next weekend!

Remember pump can't suck what isn't there. Some Cavatation is normal. It lets you know Turbo is not Full. Steady ON was what I had when I used thin synthetic oil and my turbo filled Quick, SMOKE and Oil Every where. Lesson learned.

May look around for another one....any suggestions?

I've looked for hours. Gave up. These are my 2 spares. Mr Turbo sells these two shown.

not so keen on the middle one, im a nokia man myself!!!!
I take it the big pump mounts underneath as seen on others..........sturdy unit I m sure....will have a look on that website.thought Id seen one something like. I was looking last night putting allo sorts of headings, trying to find ones fitted to the Ford Focus as an aftermarket pump but I think they are all too big.for what we need.
Gonna chang my oil ,make sure its not too full, and take stock of how much is leanking past , I may take the exhaust housing and compressor housing off to see exactly how much comes out , to check on the seal really, I will let you know thanks for now......

LOL, Now now, don't pick on daughters phone. She already wants a new one, NOT happening.

big pump .......sturdy unit I m sure....

Solid for sure maybe over kill, 2-3/4 pounds. Small pump only 9oz,,,,, but,,,, just hope your not far from home when it goes.

Ran the bigger pump off battery with no oil for a second, really really Quiet. The spur pump is the smallest gear driven pump I could find. If you find something smaller let me know. Some look smaller in pics but weigh 4.7 lbs so Can't be ?

I think having seen what occurs when the pump fails Ill do as you have done and suggest and I will order a pump from Mr Turbo, I was looking on their site last night if its quiet and reliable its better a pound or two more than risking getting caught out,
Oh and my 3 year old already knows how to get into my iphone

Nope, not yet lol. Wait till your fuse pops at 160 mph. Now that's something you won't forget. Switch fuse to 20 amps ASAP Or ??????????????
