Darn Wife
07/03/21 2:59 PM

Wife has a 2020 Can Am Spyder RTL and yesterday we were just putting around and I was on the FJR. We stopped in at Ted's Motorcycles in Alton IL which sells Can Am's and Harleys. While I was looking at Harley's for the heck of it she was showing them pictures of my 3 bikes (ZRX ZX14 FJR) asking what they would be worth on trade ins on a used 2020 Spyder RT. I would not of even known it if it were not for a sales person coming to ask about my ZX14. She thinks at 65 I amd getting to old for 2 wheelers but knows I am not going to give up riding. I asked why the used 2020 and she said she did not want me to have a better Can Am than hers.

I think I may still be King Of The Castle but I am wearing the dress .....

I had the FJR cruise on and going free handed in the very mild curved back roads as I always do with her behind me. I have a habit of flapping my arms like I am big bird or on stage singing to an audience or dancing and ect from the waste up just to kill boredom and time. I was occupied with riding free handed and my mind in its own world and some how lost her. I pulled over and waited for a short while before she showed up. I get the look that only wimmins can give but no lecture till we get home. I tried to tell her I can only go so slow and that is why I usually ride by myself.
I tried to explain I am not fast and skilled like many of them backroad riders are but I have 50 years on bikes to her 5 which must have sounded like a smart ass answer but it is true. End result is that the couch is not as comfy as I thought it was and 1 of HER cats decided to sleep on my pillow and when I waked up all I saw was cat butthole.

At least I am retired and do not have to look for a job - at the moment.

At first I read this as you were riding with her behind you as a passenger!

Oofah. My wife is a huge fan of riding and racing. She hasn't been on my bike for awhile because
of some back issues. But she would NEVER try to get me to stop riding. In fact she's on my
case right now to get the 83 GS750E restoration going.

Wife has a 2020 Can Am Spyder RTL. We are going out again today and I should take the 14 to help her understand what leaving her behind is really like.

If you want some excitement, give her the 14 and you take the Spyder.

Got to admit my wife is a keeper.

Years ago she didn't want me get another motorbike after a riding hiatus (for a couple of years) after a trailbike off that opened up my left shin.
She made it all very difficult but after getting tired of constantly not getting the okay I end up buying a red 1998 VFR800 in pristine condition behind her back.
Of course WWIII began when the bike was delivered.
But she eventually calmed down and I still had the bike.
She even jumped on the back every now and then and really enjoyed it.

Maybe 18 months later I was riding with the boys and had an accident that was 100% my fault.
The bike was unfortunately written off.
It was during an 8 day tour in Tasmania so thankfully I was in full leathers.
A little banged up and scraped but nothing major or broken.
Called her that night and received a very cold reaction so I was not looking forward to getting home.
When I walked in the door and after she asked how I was, she looked at me and I looked at her.
I was pretty sure I knew what was coming.
Something like "That's it. No more motorbikes.".
Instead, she very calmly said "If I stop you from riding you will resent me won't you?"
I replied "Probably."
She then said, "Okay. I'm not happy but if its that important to you there's not much I can do or say. Keep riding."

Like I said, she's a keeper...

Mr Rook the problem is her idea is she controls the throttle and probably would still not go over 70 mph.

Very wealthy people rarely brag about their financial positions as they are comfortable with their situations.
Guy's who have nailed lots of women rarely brag about their conquests as they are also comfortable within themselves.

I pretty much do as I damn well please.

One of the worst cases of pussy whipping and fry pan beating I have seen in a long time...
