I have the Corbin on my bike. Seamed a bit firm when I got it but I do 1200 mile 3 day rides and was pleasantly surprised how it felt. To me it does feel like the butt support is to far back. My riding position puts me in between the tank and the butt support. Wish it had a little more forward position. I do agree that it is nice not to have the nuts on the tank!

do you know anybody who knows anybody that lives in the Seattle area with a Corbin? I'd really like to sit on one before purchasing. Its expensive enough as is and I want to get the passenger backrest.

I understand your consern, they are pricey. Sorry I can't help you out, I live in Louisiana, but I can tell you they are stiff, the raised back on the seat is farther back than I wanted so not alot of support there. also your crotch isn't riding the tank, thats a plus. I feel cumfortable but loose. Personally I like it but haven't been more than 2 hours on it yet. I'm only 5'6", I think the bigger you are the seat will fit more snug. Good luck in your decision. Also there is someone selling a brand new one on the forum, here's a link:

Early 90's when I was buying Corbin seats (3 for ZX11s), you could order them customized a little. More or less padding for height and softness, and moving the seat step forward or backward. I don't know if they still do this, but Sargent added an inch of cushion to raise my seat up.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

I did see the seat for sale. I'd have picked it up, but it doesn't appear to have the cutout for the addition of a backrest for the passenger.

I live in Snohomish and have the rest of the week off after today. Weather is supposed to get nice again by Thursday if you want to meet up someplace. Agree with Eray' description. They are firm feeling but on my last 3 day 1200 mile ride it was nice with no pressure points. Something else you might consider is Rich's custom seats. He is in Kingston. Expensive but totally worth it. I know several people with his seats that love them. He takes the stock seat base and re-pads and skins them. He does a preliminary build up which you go ride for a bit, then any adjustments are made before the final skin goes on.

The Corbin seat was made with the passenger cowl in mind. They pushed the butt stop all the way back. It is lower than stock about an inch in the back, but you do not slide forward. I've got 10,000 miles on my seat; it's still hard. I use a bead pad to get back some height.
I have a Corbin on my FZ1 and it fits my butt perfectly.
I wrote down measurements from Corbin's website on different Bikes.
ZX14r seat 13.5" wide x 15" long with 4" vertical back 30.5" off ground
C14 12"w x 15"long 31.25"
FZ1 13"w x 14.5"long 32.5"
Bandit 12"w x 13"long 31.0"
I can see why I do not like the seat on the Bandit, it is too short. The seat itself is 1.5" shorter than the FZ1.
Suzuki screwed up designing the Bike.
I've had Corbin seats on 4 motorcycles. They are hard.
The Sargent seat on the Bandit is soft. It was already on the Bike when I bought it.

I've got a lead on another seat for our Bikes.

Hey doubled
Very curious as to where you got the topcase and side rail setup for the ZX14. Or company name?
Looking for a similar setup for a 2016....
Thanks!

The side racks came from twistedthrottle.com it is SW-Motech out of Germany. They changed from tubing to a flat plate but it allows the Givi saddle bags to hug the Bike.

I used another person's idea and got a 2004-6 DL650 Suzuki luggage rack and made brackets to bolt it in place. If I was doing it again, I would use this bracket. You either cut your plastic tail section or get the European tail for a nicer finished look and easier to go back to stock.

The side racks/saddle bags will work either use aftermarket mufflers or lower each stock muffler one-two inches with a bracket at the rear connection. Many Riders have done this and plenty of Threads for photos.
Good Luck.

Love the look of my Corbin but damn after a couple hours cheecks start to hurt. Picked up a Airhawk for that added extra cushion when I hit the 2-3 hour ride.
