Rear Sprocket side out ?
11/19/15 3:06 PM

My stock 2013 ZX14 rear spocket is slightly offset. My question is to which side of the bike does the relieved side go ? It was originally facing the clutch side of bike . It would make about a 1/4 inch offset if placed teh wrong way.. unless I am way off base..

I'm going to assume you had the rear wheel off. Go look for the internal collar in the garbage can or steel barrel you left the rim on... I'm a little confused as how this lineup is moving in or out? It all bolts together one way... unless you are missing parts like part number 42036-Sleeve-RR Hub.

. I guess I did not explain it very well. If you look in the link at the sprocket ( 42041) , you can see that teh side facing out , which shows in the diagram, is relieved. If you turn that sprocket backwards , it is flat and it will it will move the teeth in towards the center of the wheel a very small amount. According to the diagram, the relieved side faces out which is what I had, just wanted to be correct.
Thanks for the link.

The lettering goes out..facing you.The teeth track will be out just a bit further than the main portion of the sprocket. The totally flat side goes inward.

Same on my 08. the number 41 (I believe the gen 1 has a 43 tooth so 43 for you) faces out.

This is a gen1 mind you. You see the 41 stamped a little past 4 o'clock. Teeth are set outward, nuts are against a recessed surface.

You actually can order the all the spare parts of ZX14 from China. Their market is still supporting old model spare parts on essayontime you can see people are not getting their demanded bikes parts but China is still producing them.
