Ok now time for the write up I will start with my favorite and work my way down!!!

2012 ZX-14R this bike is amazing even with the added weight gain it feels like 30-40lbs lighter the handling is extremely improved I would almost say flick able I took a transfer ramp that did a 360 at 90mph and she dove in without effort and was very predictable and the suspension loaded evenly (Im 170-180lbs) and she felt very planted even on the stock POS tires now on to the ergo’s when I first sat on her I noticed the seat was about 2 inches lower and extremely comfortable (plush soft and smooth) but there was still something different that I just could not put my finger on until we were riding home on my 2008 then it me the seat on the 2012 ZX-14R is about an inch farther from the bars! If you sit on your pre 2012 ZX-14 and slide your butt back in to the cowling that’s the feel minus the lower seat but the pegs feel to be in the same position as they are on the gen-1!and the 1st gear clink is gone!!!! As for the power increase I can’t say I shut the K-TRAC off but before the ride they turned it back on and told me not to touch it so I was kind of sad!

2012 concourse-14 this bike was the most comfortable smoothest bike I have ever ridden in my life and the handling is very similar to the gen-1 ZX-14 with an upright riding position and very similar power and a slightly softer suspension but what really sets the concourse apart is the technology heated bar grips, tire pressure monitor on the dash shaft drive and all the other little goodies my only complaint is the linked ABS (you hit the rear brake and it activates the fount also and vise versa) it is very touchy but the bike only had 1,000 miles on it so it may improve over time I don’t know but Privateer I see why you got your concourse-14 its amazing!!!

2012 KLR-650 this bike is so much fun to ride just put her in gear and whack the throttle and you can do that all day with its 5 gallon gas tank its down fall is anything past 70 mph she starts getting wobbly in high winds with the stock tires but I got it up to 90 mph before I caught back up to the group cursers but I wish Kawasaki would put the fuel injected inline twin versus engine in the KLR-650 and put supermoto tires and rims on it that would be the perfect sumo/enduro!

2012 ZX-10R this bike is extremely track oriented and begs to be at the top of the rev-range at all times and feels like a 600 below 8,000 but after that she pulls nicely but body position is very cramped and gets even more cramped when you try to tuck (if you’re a bigger guy) and my knees were constantly touching my elbows and the corners of the windshield start flopping up and down at 45 and get worse as speed increases and it is very buzzy in the bars! The seat is very hard and there is not much room to move around the tachometer was pissing me off with all the flashing but the breaks are very good and the handling is insane if you are looking for a track bike the ZX-10R is a bike for you but if all you do is ride on the street I would not recommend it!

ZX-14R but I did have a blast on the KLR-650 and its cheap but my wife is getting her motorcycle endorsement very soon so I will have to get her a bike first or she will try to ride my ZX-14!

Sounds like you had fun!

Last year when I went to Ticket 2 Ride in Bowie MD I rode the 2011 ZX10R and was amazed (having owned one of the earlier ones) and the Concours 14 which sold me on it.

Then at the COG National last year, I got to ride another Concours 14 and it made my mind up.
