That is the infamous "Wall" on Grizzly Peak Rd in the Berkeley hills east of the SF Bay. We got there at 9 so light traffic. Hung around for a bit. Interesting tidbit. Someone hung a figure wearing full leathers, boots , helmet etc, all painted gold about 50 feet up a pine tree facing the Wall parking area. Called the "Golden Man" Still trying to figure out how they got him up there. He's been there for over a year.

Dude with "paranoia" has had 2 crashes so far. Both rookie mistakes. And he doesn't seem to respond to advice or instruction to good. Now is always overthinking things. I'm now talking to him about maybe he take a break from riding for a while. Some people are just not cut out for it.

Oooohhhh, OK. Yeah, understood. My bro-in-law is scary on his R1 ... yes, R1 ... his first sport bike ever. And he is NOT confidence inspiring to see ride, or even when just talking about riding. First time we ever rode together, I took him through a neighborhood with curvy roads, maybe 40 mph max. Well, one of the curves he followed me thru he panicked, stood the bike straight up and rode off the pavement, down a pretty steep grass embankment, and just got lucky as hell that's all there was in his path. Huge grand daddy oaks all around in the yard he rode into, but he missed them. I believe that was the one and only ride with him. I don't want to be there if he ever makes a serious mistake. And ... I don't want to end up with regret, thinking my faster riding caused him to ride above his abilities trying to keep up.
