Just lifted my 14 on a Pit bull forward handle rear stand. The Pit Bull Forklift stand with Converter is a little tough to get under there. The rubber handle grip prevents any scratching on the top of the fender. I have to guide the pin around with my thumb over the top of it so as not to scratch the ceiling over the front fender. Once the pin is popped in the stem, nothing else gets touched at all. It requires a lot of force to raise the front but the bike is held up during the lift by the rear stand (I will hope).

^^^^^^^^^^Reminds me Blue---you got Vortex swing arm spools on there? Those look like they will allow for an off center placement of the lifting forks but that also means off center of gravity. Just a possibility I thought of sitting here typing. My vertical Horizons are kinda clunky looking but the have a flat lifting surface. Pit Bulls are also flat but they do not fit tight to the bung (there's that word again --lol)because of the rounded bottom edge of the 14's swingarm.

Hell I don't know what they are...probably Vortex.I will say this though...my rear pitbull will not fit my bike just set up the way they instructed.I had to do some modding with mine.Don't know about yours.I found with the standard setup, arm distances and such, that if I set them so the rear tire was centered between the two arms, when I went to lower the stand,it caught the rim and tried to gouge it.Actually got lodged in there cause it wasn't clearing far enough out when the stand was lowered.I had to switch the lifting blocks around, and set the forks "backwards" in the lifting arms(not the forks themselves, but the fork blocks).Otherwise...it wasn't gonna clear. The wheel sits off center some...but not anything to worry about....she stays stable when lifted.I'm only gonna use the front stand for removing the wheel for tire changes anyway...so I can deal with it okay.It wasn't the stand that caused it to fall.I just wasn't expecting the bike to move rearward. That's what did it.The one rear stand wheel rode up on the folded carpet, throwing the whole deal off balance.I'll know better next time.

I'm curious how your rear stand is set up.You didn't have any lifting/lowering issues with yours?I've got that forward handle myself.Let me ask ya...when yer lifting the bike with it,does the handle clear the lowered kickstand? My setup has the bike rear tire just off the center by maybe an inch...possibly a tad more. But she doesn't move off vertical at all with it like that.Solid as can be(unless something like a friggin rug gets under one o' the wheels and kicks one side up !)

Blue, face it, you are mechanically-challenged.

I've had no issues with my PB forward rear except for that the rear tire rubs the cross bar when the bike is in the lifted position. I solved that by adjusting the lifting forks up a bit and I put the extra bolts and nuts in there like my photo on p1. Other than that, I don't like that the handle is right beside the bike where I want to lay/reach under. As you know, the handle is also very vertical at the onset of the lift and this reduces leverage a great deal. Adjusting the lifting forks up 3/8" as I have done reduces leverage even more. It was downright frightening lifting with the stock exhaust and a full tank of gas. With the busa----forget it. I almost dropped 'er and she never even got off the ground.

I'd like to try a rear handle. The main disadvantage would be the extra length of floor space that would get used up. put a block of wood under the sidestand to hold the bike vertical at the start and end of the lift, lift next to a wall.....they are all risky. All stands. Safest thing is one of those gargantuan hydrolic table lifts and even that's no good for taking off wheels.

does the handle (of the Pit Bull forward handle rear stand) clear the lowered kickstand?

Nope. I need to spring the kickstand up with my toe after the bike is lifted a couple inches off the floor. If the kickstand is left in the lowered position, it will intervene with the lifting lever bar on the Pit Bull fwd handle.

This is still my all around fav. Extremely safe. Easy solo lifting. Good leverage(Works for a busa). This thing will not tip over in an earthquake. The bike is balanced on the swingarm pivots which makes lifting the front a snap. The supports are under the bike again but less obtrusive than the PB fwd handle. The only thing I would like to see different on the Heindl is that they could be more solid. The steel is 3/16" thick and the stand comes apart into 2 halves so it can clamp into the swingarm pivot holes. It's sturdiness is fine though not like a welded Pit Bull 1/8" gauge tubing, for sure.

Ya...glad it worked well for him.It is possible that I did not have the pin all the way up in the steering stem.Doesn't matter now...had my buddy reweld the angle, and she clears real well now...with the pin all the way in.I looked at your pic there Rook...ya...that fork block...that's part of what I had to saw off...the length was just too long to clear the rim at letdown.Otherwise,I've got my lifting forks just like yours.I resituated the fork/blocks over just enough for the handle to clear the lowered kickstand.I wasn't gonna try and "raise" the kickstand when she wasn't even at a full lift.No way.Too iffy for me.Once I get er lined up IN the spools..I just hold the clipon and push all the way down...clears the stand easily with no drama.Having that cheater bar on there will cause the stand to "lock in" at a different angle...just enough to allow the rear tire to be raised up from the stand wheels bar there.I know what ya mean about the tire hitting.Mine will hit without the cheaterbar to stop the handle from goin all the way down. But there's plenty of angle to secure a full lock with her like this.
