I've had a black 2007 ZX14 since new with heaps of mods, and just took delivery of my brand new 2013 SE Spark Black ZX14R. I can't wait to get stuck into it and see what I can turn it into.

I was thinking green too just for a new challenge, but there were none available in Australia. I got offered a great deal on a new one so went for the SE Spark Black instead. I'm going to do this bike a bit different to the 07. Maybe a little more black and carbon & just let the green highlights and wheels pop. I am a polishing whore, but all the hand polished metal was a lot of work. I have to admit though, being asked for the whole 6 years if my 07 was brand new was kinda fun. I loved telling people "nah mate, it's 6 years old".

I've had the new one a week and a half now & it's shit weather here. Sitting there looking at it's killin' me!!
I haven't even managed to put any miles on it to get acquainted yet. The only thing that's gone on it is wax, and lots of it. Yeh, I am a polishing whore.
It's like looking at pictures of wild babes and we think "Hmmmm, what I'd do to you!".
The weather's supposed to improve tomorrow. I might just do exactly what I think I'd do. Jump on, grip it tight and scream YEEEE HAAAAAA!!! and giggle my ass off.

It's clouded tomorrow @ 19c but cause it was cold in SA ! I didn't ride my ZX14r today because before I went to sleep at 11.30 pm I said to my wife today on my second new work day @ 10am,she sent me a message and she said if it's just you and me (solo) so Stephen tomorrow have ya got a plan or idea for a meet and a run !with ya and some Kays on yer stead !if ya free lets hook up cobbar Saturday!

Thanks guys. I loved my 07. Had a real sentimental attachment to it (or was it just mental?). It got me through some really hard times.
Went out on the new 14R for a short run 2-up yesterday. Bloody girlfriend scratched my exhausts. On it's very first ride!! I couldn't believe it. She's bloody banned now. Had a slightly more spirited solo run on it today. You guys are right, it's a totally different machine. Even on the fresh tires and keeping the rpm down, I had an absolute blast. Those bloody Bridgestone S20r's are going to have to go though. They're just as shit as the factory ones on the 07.
