Anyone here owner a Concours 14?
03/21/19 5:51 PM

I sold my FJR and in the market for a ST bike. Only thing stopping me is the insane amount of heat hitting me at speed I felt on my 14r. It was fine in town, hot as you'd expect but not nice at all for a touring bike. Is the C14 a cooler bike to ride?

I have a 2015 C-14 Concours and I really have never felt the heat like I have on some other bikes. The plastic covering the engine does a very nice job of keeping the heat away. The 2015 is a Generation 2 bike but I have heard from others with the much earlier Concours that they could be hot. HTH.

Earlier models suffered from poor heat management but I think the factory addressed that in subsequent years.

My buddy just gave his 100,000-mile C-14 to his son. Still runs like a watch.

I haven't ridden one but I did chase one up a very twisty road. Ridden properly those things can dance.

If you do get a C-14, go to the COG Forum and PM "Steve in Sunny FL". He has a series of upgrade flashes for the C-14 that will really wake it up. He only works with Concours and his latest C-14 flash is awesome. If it had been available back then, I wouldn't have bought my ZX-14R. It's absolutely the best mod I have ever done to any bike and is quite reasonable.

Auron, You gave away your beautiful 2013 White 14r.

"Because I am uncapable of being happy"

The Concours is 690lb, way too heavy and Tall. The Fairing blocks too much wind and is hot in the summer.
If you still in live Denver, get a BMW s1000XR. Plenty of Power for Wheelies! and lightweight plus Electronic Cruise Control.

I've ridden my 14r all over the Rocky Mountains and it has plenty of power.
The "Need for Speed" beats in all of us!
