It's a shame...
09/26/19 3:56 PM

I love my 14R and I love riding it.
I have always been extremely thankful for this site and enjoyed learning so much from generous experts such as Rook, Hub and others who have always been happy to assist me in getting my bike to exactly the way I want it.

But there is nothing left to do on my Ninja and correspondingly it seems this forum has pretty much figured out all there is to on the ZX-14.
There will always be newbies just starting out and needing advise but the good old days of a new find like flies out or which is the best flash seem over.
And we seem to have lost so many of the oldies but goodies such as Hag, Romans, Victhing, etc.

While I will always assist a newbie if it's in my power I find the vast majority of my commenting is on Off Topic posts. Not too sure if thats a good thing or not.

But it is still a place where like minded individuals with the same common bond can chat, discuss the 14 and assist others. I hope the forum never closes.

But it has changed.
It's a shame.
Just saying.

But one thing is for sure.
There are some amazing people here.
Just got a couple of private messages from forum members that really showed me just how amazing.

I am by far one of the most opinionated people here.
Yes, I know.
I don't mean any disrespect to 99% of you here but I know I have an ability to do so sometimes.
Thats my issue to figure out.
I just struggle with the defence of a point that I believe is weak or not addressed and for some reason feel the need to call it out.

I'm hanging around here no matter what.
Just know that I would ride and drink with almost every one of you.

Anyway enough dribble.
Rant over.

I knew not long after I joined this forum that you were a pretty sharp person yannih. You would be surprised at how much of what you have shared in this forum that I agree with. I just try my best not to get caught up in all of the drama that happens here although I have slipped several times. I do come here daily and keep up with all of you that still help others with their questions and situations. I am still quite the novice when it comes to motorcycle riding and know very little about the mechanics of this bike other then what you all have taught me. Coming up on 37,000 miles in 5 years of owning and riding my first motorcycle but it is you veterans that have my ear. I have not much to share most of the time other then to say thanks and please don't fade away! I love to learn and not just about motorcycles
I think I'd like to visit Australia and New Zealand sometime in my future. We'll see how things work out in the next decade. I do have a plan.

And we seem to have lost so many of the oldies but goodies such as Hag, Romans, Victhing, etc.

Hag is here. Romans peeked in. Kruz, Mr. AC/DC, Grn, Rook, who else? If mother tea rolls out the next wfpb, I'll have cash waiting. Grn beats me to it, oh well. BG might throw the next fastest prod bike on the home page, and you can eat the fresh ones signing up, yanni.

Or see if this has any gravitational pull. In 2004 facebook was born. 2006, the websites like these were at the top of the medium. 14 years later, the sites are up, but if you check the last dates someone posted on a thread, it's a few years back. Facebook will be phased out and another medium will be invented. My guess is that's what you're up against is one, and probably second of all, others do other things after 14 years have gone bye. I know, seems like yes tear day.

doz,
Thanks for the kind words.

If you come to Queenstown NZ I'll take you riding and supply a bike. Some good runs here.
That actually goes for pretty much any of you guy's here.

And if any of you and a member or two from this forum head to Sydney AU for a break I will fly back for a few days and take you on a cracking ride you won't forget (And Green, an H2 will go very nicely indeed on some of our Australian roads).

Riding, beer and the boys.
Very very hard combo to beat!

You want my opinion?
No wives or girl friends...

P.S.
Hub, come and see a redback for real!
Rook, come over and take a break from teaching.
Mad, bring that racing pedigree over and lets see what you've got.
Kofla, you, me, bikes, beer, and no politics.
Green, you just come over...
Almost everyone is welcome!

Same here. Too many years to call it quits.

I'm still grooving on all the old stuff that has been all but forgotten. I haven't tried a TRE yet. I haven't played with my Ignition Module either. Still have not got the nitrous up and running. Turbo is a must. I'm staying old school on this bike and there's a lot of things to do.

I definitely hope to retrofit a Gen2 motor in my 08. After that, I'm waiting on the next iteration of the 14 and maybe I'll jump in again if it's as good as the bike I build!!

Rook, come over and take a break from teaching.

If i get the cash and don't spend it on a turbo you can count on it! I actually have to start thinking about building a home of some sort too. The tiny apartment I'm in is driving me crazy.

Thanks for the invite, yannih. New Zealand would be a wonderful place to visit. You're lucky to be able to live there forever.

New Zealand is a photographer's paradise, and on my bucket list of places I would love to visit before I kick the bucket. If I ever decide to visit after I retire, I'll be in touch.

New Zealand is a photographer's paradise

Hey Kofla, you are correct, especially in Queenstown.
You could really do some damage with your camera equipment here!

I do a bit of flying, just small bug squatter aircraft like Cherokee Warrior's and Cessna 172 / 177 Cardinal's, and get the odd pic from my phone camera.

Its a beautiful place to be. We are very lucky to live here...

Phone camera sunrise.

WOW! That is just incredible! Beautiful sights!!

Air fare is about $1200.

That's a lotta scratch yannih. I guess I will have to stay at your place a few months.

Oh, I think my two kids will want to come visit too. They're vegetarians. They don't eat much..

2 weeks is your limit.

Like I said, New Zealand is a photographer's dream. btw, I just did a search to Maui, Hawaii, and it is the same airfare ($1000) as when I traveled there in 2004. I had such a great time in Maui that I visited twice that year. So $1200 to new Zealand is not that bad.
