I’m having the same problem with the stumbling past 6-7k rpm with the aftermarket cap. The problem stops with a full tank of gas. Removing the cap doesn’t help. Maybe I got some bad gas or water so I’m going to try an additive. If that doesn’t solve the problem then it’s got to be the pump or filter.

With a dried out water bottle, pull fuel line, aim hose into bottle, turn key on and let the fuel pump cycle. What is the measurement with a half a tank? What is the level at a full tank? Same-same, it's not the pump/filter.

It ran well for several tanks, but started running poorly again. I ordered a new pump, filter, and fuel pressure regulator. Not sure what the problem is, but maybe this will take care of it. The filter was full of grime on the outside.

12 years and still no problem with mine. I use Seafoam full strength during storage and I put a small dose in every now and then during the riding season. I don't keep my fuel tank full all the time but when it gets low, I fill it to the top.

I wasnt the original owner. I bought it with about 4700 mi. Less than 2 mo later it has almost 10k. The fuel pump, regulator, and filter fixed the problem. I made a 300mi run today. Twice ran the tank to nearly empty with no issue. It was likely just a filter problem, but I didn’t want to take everything apart again if it wasn’t.

I have no popping on decel on my 14R with Ivan's flash and full Akra exhaust. Go to Ivans site and he explains what causes this and what he does to eliminate it (fuel cut) with his flash. My last 14R had a Brocks street meg exhaust, Guhl flash and PC5 and we never eliminated the popping on decel. Some guys love this, I don't.
