Does anyone has a step by step to remove the necessary fairing to install HIS kits for low and high? And where to put the ballast?
Thank you!

Dont know about all of the fairings, but put the tank cover on BEFORE the foreman grills, and the inner covers last

Remove your inners and windscreen, change out the lights, mount the ballasts in the top below the windscreen

I will say the absolute best solution is to remove the upper fairing complete, and mount everything in it.
That way none of the wiring to the ballasts etc. ever get in the way.
All that connects the HIDs then to the rest of the bike is the connectors to the OEM frame-side light connectors.
Clean, reliable, permanent solution.
I used clear silicon adhesive (RTF) to attach the ballasts and starters (I read they have them all combined in a single mini package now) to the inside of the upper fairing, to either side of the headlight mounts. Tie-wrapped the wires to the headlight mount frame.
Then I suppported the upper fairing about 6 inches out in front of the bike from where it would be when bolted back on, connected the electrical leads to the OEM connectors, putting die-electric grease in them first, and then silcon-ed each connector. Nothing ever pulled out or got flaky on me.
More work than just dropping stuff down in the side fairing pockets, but much more professional and satisfying, knowing you did it like a pro-shop.

Thanks for the info guys. When I had my busa I double sided tape the slim ballast together and double sided tape them to the right air intake and zip tie them. And I heard that if you mount the ballast close to your gauge it will interfere the intruments on the gauges. But I never heard about this problem. How about you guys with the 2012 ZX-14?
I wish on that video they actaully take the fairings off instead of just saying it.

No offense to Smokin...but sitting there NEXT to the bike and talking about it wasn't too helpful for me...LOL!!!Nice vid though;)
Well Carabusa...at least now you know how to remove and install your Ram covers!LOL!!!!!
If your hands are smallish...you CAN get those HID's in there by removing those Ram covers and moving some of the harness aside...just don't TOUCH those HID bulbs...they will get scratched and marred easily.Even a fingerprint will cause em to fail prematurely....

These are the best I've found, even cleared up the confusion I caused myself when I forgot which of the 3 different push rivets went where. I too wish Smokins video actually showed the process.
