Anyone using anything besides stock mirrors?? I just don't like the looks of the stockers.

Cheap bar end mirrr off of Eby. ~$16 and you usally get 2. I like the ones with the ball joint and the hinge to fold in out of the way. The hinge will fold from wind if you do max acelleration in 1st , 2nd gear and usually when you go over 100 mph. They do make them without the hinge if this is a problem but you should get one with a ball joint or locking hinge joint for in/out adjustment.
CRG is just a little more steadfast for not folding in the wind but costs $50 for just one mirror. Everything else is identcal to the cheap knockoffs on ebay.
I have this one on the busa and it works fine.
holy sh!t they wised up and raised the price..look around, I've seen these very cheap or simialr ones....all just as good...I've had two brands that were cheap and like both about 95% as good as the CRGs I have on the 14.
and you'll need mirror blocks. you can get those pretty cheap too.

One more thing, you may need to eliminate your bar end weights if you use bar end mirrors. my bike has barely enough room and that is only because i use aftermarket bar ends that seem to be a little too shallow. I also have aftermarket grips that are a little shorter than the OEMs. The mirror on the throttle side can't be pushed on too tight or the throttle grip will stick against it. I guess you could drop a few aluminum washers in the stock bar ends to shim them out...maybe use a longer bolt. I'm not sure how OEM grips will work with bare end mirrors.
The one stop fix it solution is to use the bar end bung and get rid of the bar end altogether. I have only one mirror on the busa and the throttle grip side just goes with the bar end bung. I think it looks cool on the busa but I had the fancy bar ends for the 14 so i didn't want to take them off.
LOL I dropped the busa twice on the mirror. The bar end bung works good for a 0 mph tip over. Probably a lot cheaper to replace.

I have the Rizomas on mine (came with the 2006 ZX14 I had prior)
Love them, super clean, very clear, but they are small, so make sure you turn your head early and often too!

Well.. I checked out bar ends and the position I ride in appears to make turning my head necc when checking mirrors. I am a pretty small guy and can see if my arms were longer the barend mirrors would be more practical.. So I just cut the stalks on the stock mirrors and brought them in closer to the bike.. Again since I am pretty short and narrow, the mirrors are perfect for viewing by just changing eye direction slightly and yet the bug eye affect has been diminished quite a bit, at least IMHO.
One of these days I will learn the correct size for pics..

Thanks Rook..I damaged the fairing on the right side and rather than try to match the Kawi paint, I played with the design.. It doesnt show in the shade but the paint has an extremely small gold flake.. Wish I were a better paint/body guy. Probably going to have to take it to a shop to have them redo it so it will pass more than the ten-foot test :)
