Exhaust advise please ??
10/10/17 9:39 PM

Guys' I'm looking for some advise on slip on exhaust for my 14r. I've got a 2015 LE 14r, I had intended to keep it bone stock, because it's sitting beside its 1984 Ninja 900 predecessor. Thing is, I "really" like the way the fender eliminator and carbon cans look. It just cleans the whole rear of the bike up. I'm not looking for a performance upgrade, just the look that appeals to me. I like the look of the Yoshi R77 and the Two Brothers exhaust. I don't want to make the bike any louder than it has to be, to run the carbon slip ons. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also, with just the slip ones, would the bike need to be tuned / flashed ???

I'm a fellow old guy at 64. My 14" CF Oval Delkevic slip-ons are very quiet. And the price is reasonable. They were way too quiet with the baffles in. There is an 18" CF oval that I would expect to be a little quieter. I couldn't be more pleased with these.

Here is a vote for the Yosh R77 with the quiet baffle.
Looks great, has a deep tone but it's not too loud. No additional tuning needed.

The R77 is one of the looks I like the best, but was concerned with it being too loud. Do they come with the quiet baffles ??

The Yoshi with the baffles still sound great, I only remove them at the track. No need for a ECU flash but I do have one.

Where would you guys recommend for pricing. I have a 10% off offer from Bikebandit.com, but they don't sell Yoshimura. They do however have Two Brothers......

M4 slips here. I like them...some think they look too small. Choice of noise level with different or no inserts held in with large snap ring.

For those that like the look of the M4’s but think they’re too
too loud, these Stage2 quiet inserts get them fairly quiet.

I like the look of the Yoshi R77 and the Two Brothers exhaust.

I've always thought exhaust was very subjective, what one person loves another can't stand. However since you specifically mentioned TB & R77 I will say this, I have a set of TB CF in my shop that I pulled off my 2012, it now has R77 CF's on it. I guess that pretty much tells you what I think. By the way I'd make someone a deal on the TBCF's.

Could not agree more. It's totally up to the individual.

But the Yoshimura carbon R77's are the only ticket in town for me...

If you're goin with slipons, I'd get M-4s. ...but I always suggest a full system unless you don't care about the extra hp and the slipons you buy are very inexpensive. Generally slipons are not that much less than a full system 4-2-1.

I wouldn't worry about tuning right away if you don't want to. I doubt it will make a huge difference in AFR with slipons. I wouldn't flash a bike for slipons unless the tuner gives free reflashes. If you flash for slipons, you're stuck with slipon fueling. PC5 would probably be a good way to go for you and flash later if you want. As I said, I don't think you will see any earth shattering improvemnt one way or the other and I don't think it will hurt the bike to run on stock fueling.

those TB slipons are definitely in the very inexpensive catagory. A little shot of black engine enamel on that spot on the tip will hold up just fine. I'd grab them if you're looking for slipons!

I'd rather use tampons then slipons.
