Any one of you new pending owners of the new 14R got any firm delivery dates for your new rides yet??? It's November...

It would be nice. Santas helpers have a ton of stuff to install: alarm, gpr damper (if it fits), rearsets, rizomas, bar risers, HID's, steel lines, HM quick shifter and Pazzo's. Going to wait on pipe and PCV till some data is available, maybe Santa will buy me those.....

Btw, I was actually told in middle of November... Not holding my breath. Really don't give a shit cause I won't be riding it for a few months.

Exactly. No need to have one until May in most places. CA and AZ and NV and TX etc. earlier. I remember riding all year 'round when I lived in California.

If I was getting one, and didn't have back problems, I'd leave it stock for at least 1,000 miles just to know for sure what I wanted to change.

When I get my C14 finally, I know what it needs based on being around them so much. But I'll still ride it stock for at least one summer.

My thoughts also Priv... No changes until I get a feel for it... Of course, I won't be making the plunge until I have the cash saved to do so, but when I do, that's the plan.

I am hoping like hell, that one of you gets yours in BEFORE the end of the year! So we can hear all about it!

I hope all who ordered one will get it soon... I think you will. I took delivery of my 2011 Z1000 last November 17th. I ordered it just after they announced the models/colors for 2011 last Oct 5 or so. I live in SLC, so we get winter and the bike was pretty much useless to me by mid November. The same dealer did not get the rest of the 2011 bikes until spring.. They just got mine here sooner cuz I ordered it. Pretty sure if you ordered one in time, you'll be getting one soon... and I can't wait to hear about them.

My dealer's General Manager called me and asked me to come over at lunch. Turns out they were putting their first 2012 order together.

So I have a 2012 Black ZG1400 (aka C14) coming, ABS and KTRC standard.

January. All of them.

Someone is getting a SE ZX14R too.

Only two of us got to get numbers changed on the order, because of our prior business. Well, and smoozing. Heh.

My C14 will remain completely stock for the first riding season except for driving lights. Unless the handlebars are less comfortable than my ZX14, which is unlikely.

I will have the dealer but my Denali D2 driving lights on before I pick it up. Right now they are configured as fog lamps, but I'll switch them over to driving lamp mode, and have them wired to be low intensity on low beam, and high intensity on high beam.

That way I won't need to mess with HID replacement lights until the following winter. No way will I ever own a bike again without HIDs.

Speaking of Denali lights, the darn things are LED ! No wonder they cost so much. Darn things are flame throwers.

I hear you - glad we don't get those ball freezin' temps here (only for a minute), but I pretty much can ride 10 months a year here - 11 if you got some good cold weather stuff, there's only a short time when there are freezing temps in this area of TX... Can't wait until next year and I can put a ZX14R in my garage!

Heh you will for sure enjoy the 2012 ZX14R. I would get one if I could ride it for shit anymore, but I cannot. The C14 would be too aggressive of seating position for me, except I know how to kick the grips back towards the seat as much as 4 inches without too much trouble, so it will be way comfortable.

I just hate the thought of going to a stock Connie seat, after having the 2010 C14 factory low gel on my ZX14 for two riding seasons. I'd love to pull it off and put the stock seat back on, and if nobody buys my ZX14 soon, I'm going to pay my nephew to pull the CT-Duals off it, and the seat, put the stock seat back on, and put the stock exhaust back on, and just disconnect the piggy. Then some can always get an aftermarket exhaust for it later.

If I do that, I'm going also take the accessories and GPS out of the deal, and some other stuff, and dump it for a low price, then sell all the Givi luggage and accessories seperately.

And keep the CT-Duals and seat for my new C14. Man, the C14 with a Guhl or Dynotronics re-flash and CT-Duals would rock.

Priv, I know that the new C14 is a great ride already, been doing some reading about it. I know it would become a Super Duper Sport Tourer with those mods! Go for it man! You're already practically giving your ZX14 away at that price, might as well get something out of it-like you said, you'd probrably get more out of it parting out the Givi's and other perks!

True re: parting out, but I'd rather just sell it, get it out of here, and be done with it.

Bad time of year to try to sell it though. Still, if someone wants to sport tour they couldn't build a better one than mine for twice the price.
