Cheap Ass buys tire
10/31/19 1:33 PM

Welp, I finally broke down and bought a new front tire for the 14. My old one was so worn on the sides that
the bike was handling like an old H1, with flat tires. I mentioned that I recently put on a Conti
Sport Attack rear tire and I love that thing. So, I bought the front. $92 from Cycle Gear. That's Shinko prices !
I had Cycle Gear do the install while I waited. $25 off the bike, cheapest in the area. Put the wheel
back on last night. I'm riding this weekend so I'll report back.
Looking forward to getting back on the Big Girl. The next few weekends I have to go up to the house. The power
has been out for 5 days. My wife lives up there and it's getting old. I have a new Generac generator being delivered next week and I will be doing a break in run with it. Still need an electrician for the interlock install.

All pretty complex Mad.

Move to Queenstown.
Living is pretty easy here.
(On the condition you have a bit of cash behind you because it's f**king expensive here.)

Enjoy the new tyres.

I have been on the Metzler M8's for a while but just bought 2 sets of the old Michelin Road 4's because they were at a clearance discounted price I just couldn't refuse...

Cycle Gear in Little Rock did not Stock my rear tire and even if they ordered it they would not mount it to my rim. Stock 190/50 tire.

That's weird doubleD,
Here my local store had the tire in stock for $114 so I ordered in from their website for $92 and had it delivered to the store. The policy here is if you purchase from Cycle Gear they will mount it for $25. I assumed that was a corporate policy. The local shops now want $60-90 to mount a tire off the bike. I sold my manual tire changer and haven't got around to fixing my new pneumatic one.
Maybe they have the wrong info? I'd contact Cycle Gear and find out.

I’ve gotten to where I don’t trust shops to change tires anymore on my bike. Me and 2 of my neighbors have 5 bikes between us and we’ve gotten so good at it that we can remove and reinstall a tire in 15 mins using a couple 2x4’s and 6 extra large industrial zip ties. It’s a thing of beauty I tell you.
