Kiwi 14r
08/31/13 5:14 PM

Hi there.
Im new so im expecting all the nob jokes etc.

Riding a 2012 zx14r abs. I think the US didn't have this option until the 13 model. So mines like a 13 model with metallic black paint less the 13 green strips.
I stuck a thing on the back also.

Getting ready for the flying 1/4miles in 2 weeks. last shots with mirrors removed and blanks made.
I have the Guhl reflash and Yoshi pipes installed so far and a pc5 on the way but im not sure if it will arrive in time yet.

Hey Towball.
The trailers a ripper.
Where abouts in NZ are you.
I love the South Island. That much I took the Family down there to Get married.
Welcome to the board.

Im in Wellington. But lived in the South Island 12years ago.
Its the second trailer I have built. the last was for my MT01 which I sold last year to buy the 14r.

Ill need to pull some photos of the old trailer onto the laptop later to show it.

More detailed trailer shot below.

Thanks. the wife has short legs so luggage at the back isn't an option.

We did a 3 weeks tour last year on my old MT01 with another trailer I made. Sold that with the bike so made another for the 14.

I think I have a towing addiction and I already have ideas for making another.

Well[come], look who rolled in times 3. At least your name fits

You gave me a few ideas, ball. My guess is the swing to ball is not as stable as the ball off the frame. Then again, who wants to sway you more, the frame or the swing [ball] setup? Lets talk about the swing/ball roller. Is that a spare gas tank you have hidden under there, or was that some sort of brace you made up? Because, that more gave me the idea to fill the frame/swing arm with gas. I'd have spigots at the bottom points. So with the welded gas tank, the frame/swing filled, the rest of the plastic gas container with it's own mount bungee'd on the rig... I dig that whole setup I'm thinking of: off of yours.

I could glue a pontoon on the frame, roll it down to the ocean when it's low tide; fish a little; roll it back up. Place the fish in one of the ice filled 'cool bags.' I mean it's endless. Imagine how off the beaten path you could go with that extra fuel.

Many a true word said in Jest

I have just started getting the gear to make a double wheel offroad trailer that will have chilly bin holder, will float and be waterproof with gun and fishing rod mounts inside. Not for the zx but for a quad bike.
I might need help. I have some sort of trailer fetish.
I also built my bike trailer when I was racing.

Tow, if I needed a trailer of any wheel count, I'd count on you to make it happen. "Have Welding (fishing)Rod Will Travel"

Very easy build.
The zx14 trailer is bmx modified frame with Teflon bushes onto mx swingarm with scooter shock and zx14 front wheel.
Hitch is a quad bike universal the brackets to hold luggage.

Total cost with licence plate etc was under 1k usd and almost 1/3 of that was the wheel because its hard to get 17inch wheels cheap here.

you guys can get 3rd wheel or uni go.
I looked into getting one but it was going to cost about 6grand to get one here.

Currently speed tested to 240kph (about 145mph)
