Good point, but I was thinking of a "newbie" as someone who is new to the ZX-14, not new to the forum. Maybe there is some way to make that more clear (?). -bg

Well then I got the 14 in November and that is the 1st so called sport bike I have ever had. I started out in 1973 with the 500 triple and before that was over I had gone thru 5 - 500's and 2 - 750's. I miss all of them but then onto the 900/1000 KZ/LTD and lost count of how many I had. They were in various forms as 1075, 1105, 1170 and 1200cc. My fastest 1200 street version ran high 10:80's unstretched and no slick. Got burned out and sold out but kept the new 1987 ZL1000 and that was my only bike for many years. Somewhere in them early years I also had a 1973 750 Honda with an 836 kit and a 1979 10th Anniversary 750 Honda that someone decided they needed it more than me. In 2001 Kawi came out with the ZRX1200 and I think I got the 1st black one in St. Louis. I sold the ZL1000 then got a 2004KGT beemer and a ZRX1100 (also black) then the beemer went and a 14 weaseled its way into the gayrage. Seems like the 14 has taken the place of the beemer minus cruise control plus runs a "tad" bit faster.
