Finally, a Mad Breakfast Loop
07/18/21 10:54 PM

Ill warn you right now, I was so busy bullshitting that I completely forgot to take pictures.
I know... I suck...now lets get started.
I drove my truck down to the Bay Area to help my daughter move. We got it all done by Friday so I went
over to my friends house. He has 7 bikes and was my regular wingman when I used to lead rides
before I moved north. He was loaning me a bike to ride and I had gathered, threatened, brow beat
guilt tripped all the regulars into showing up. So, its Friday evening and I was supposed to
ride the Hyprrmotard because it had the best legroom for my knee...Uh oh...it has a bald rear
tire, expired registration and a dead battery. Ok we move on to the 2007 Tuono....dead battery that
won't take a charge. 748 ? Nope. Expired registration and couldn't use the pegs anyway. How about this Scooter ?
Its 220cc and freeway legal. Umm completely shot battery. Again won't take charge.
Soooo we have left a 1996 Honda VFR750 and a 2002 RC51. Will they start ??? Push the VFR button.....
Clickity click. Oofah... On the charger it goes. RC fires right up. Yay! Except my knee prevents me
from riding that one too. After about an hour the VFR barks to life through its Staintune exhaust. Whew! So I go home for a fitful nights sleep.
Saturday morning dawns sunny with fog over the hills. Met my son at the friends house and we gear up and set out. I can shift pretty good using my heel but can only get my foot less than halfway on the peg. Fine. Time
to toughen up, Buttercup. Met the Gang of Idiots at Alices for good coffee and outstanding bullshit. Then its time to ride. They insisted I lead even though I'm almost an invalid. The VFR was singing its V4 song as we twisted under the trees. I missed looking in my mirrors and seeing 8 bikes ridden by 8 friends as we headed towards the ocean.
Just wonderful. I also found myself dragging my toes through left hand turns. I adjusted my lines
after hitting some Bots Dots. OUCHY OUCH !
It was a great day.
