Yep Dave, have 2 wakeboards, twin ski's and a slalom ski for the boat here.
Have only done a little in Queenstown but did lots back in Sydney when I owned a couple of boats there.

Nothing like a couple of mates, a day of wake boarding and waterskiing, and then putting the boat up on the sand at the local beer garden for beer and a seafood feed.

Just had a massive stroke of luck.
Picked up a swing mooring for the boat which are as rare as rocking horse shit here.
Super convenient now.
No more trailering to and from the water.
Will stay there for summers and in the shed for winters.

Anyway, we've got a boat too: 2007 Cobalt 226 with an 8.1 liter 375 HP duoprop Mercruiser. Back in '06 I was really getting back into pleasure boating and decided to sell the old V6 boat and go all-out on the new one. Now ... we barely use it and it hasn't been on the water in over 2 years

It is in fact Lake Wakatipu, and your Cobalt is 10 times the boat I have.
The machine you have is amazing and I'm very jealous.

And don't feel special.
Its not just "dirty Americans" who are not allowed in.
At the moment it's the whole dirty world!

We are trying hard to stay clear but tomorrow the old or a new strain could end our amazing run with this virus and completely change everything.
It's that type of situation and is potentially nothing more than a click of the fingers away...

Yan - The Cobalt is a great boat, probably one of if not the best in the pleasure / runabout class, made with the best materials, no shortcuts anywhere, and I friggin loved it for the first couple years when we were still all into boating. But if I had it to do over, I wouldn't because it's actually too nice, essentially flawless, and flawless things combined with having a good relaxed time with a group of family / friends don't go together for me. My friend's beat up ol' POS pontoon that neither he nor anybody else cares about, but it runs good, is a lot more fun ... no worries.

So I may have talked you out of the jealous part, and now instead, like doznkoz, I'm jealous of you being in NZ, with all it has to offer, plus next to zip COVID issues.

2007 Cobalt 226 ... ask & receive ... with just me the mrs and the top down speedo read 63 mph (101 kph). Had to top 'er out once, just to see does 55 effortlessly.

A small upgrade.

Sold the old 1996 Four Winns (made some cash which is rare on boats), added a few dollars and bought a 2000 Sea Ray 190 CC in cracking condition.
Mercruiser 5.0 Thunderbolt 5 ignition engine with Alpha one leg.
A lot more boat than the Four Winns.
Very happy.

Boat looks great !
It always breaks my heart seeing good boats left out in the weather where I live. No cover, out in the sun and snow. I know of several near my house that have never moved. It seems that RVs and boats are purchased, used a few years and basically abandoned.

WORK DONE ON BOAT
Create raised tubing frame between front bow rails so rain water does not pool on boat cover.
Winterised boat by draining all water from engine, adding fuel stabiliser and fogging engine.
Replace trailer strap.
Remove internal cabin cushions, dry out and remove minor mould, and replace.
Clean mould and general stains on all carpet walls and ceiling in forward internal cabin.
Clean and de-stain fibreglass floor, decking under cushions and storage area’s in forward internal cabin.
Remove porta potty, empty, clean and replace.
Wash down entire boat and remove stains and marks.
Clean windscreen and windscreen frames.
Cleaned and de-stained all outside cabin deck carpets and side wall carpets.
Removed outside deck carpet, cleaned fibreglass decking underneath, replaced carpet.
Remove stains on vinyl upholstery.
Clean and protect vinyl upholstery.
Staple loose vinyl upholstery.
Snap button added to under seat storage curtain.
Grease passenger seat for sun-pad extension.
Replace missing boat cover snap button connections on cockpit boat cover.
Cleaned engine bay, battery compartment and power steering/leg tilt compartments.
Installed new adaptors to allow blue drain plugs for winterising engine and improve ease of process.
Cleaned anchor locker and re-organise anchor and rope.
Fibreglass, resin and seal breach/crack to cabin and loose anchor eyelet at bottom of anchor locker.
Remove, clean and replace carpet in anchor locker.
Replaced all (5) blue engine drain plugs in case brittle from age.
Replaced all fuses under dash to ensure all correct ratings and no issues with age.
Replaced inoperative horn unit.
Replaced inoperable stereo unit with Bluetooth version and new speakers.
Reconditioned inoperable windscreen wiper.
Repaired inoperable seat swivel function on captain’s chair.
Replaced 4 x black plastic cup holders with stainless steel cup holders.
Remove bimini top and clean pitted aluminium brace tubes.
Replaced 4 x clips on bimini attachment points.
Adjust depth /fish finder/GPS transducer angle.
STILL TO DO
Repair all gelcoat chips/damage around the boat and hull.
Sand, cut, polish and wax boat and hull.
Polish out drive.
Polish stainless steel prop.
Fill 3 minor tears in upholstery.
Pressure wash/clean both covers.
Purchase and replace damaged gold Sea Ray logo’s on hull sides.
Patch damage/holes on winter boat cover.
Replace missing screws on windscreen.
Re-sew damaged attachment points on winter boat cover.
Touch up hull graphics and polish.
Purchase and install keel protector.
Purchase and install 50mm tow ball.
Purchase and install wheel lock.
Purchase and install new trailer jockey wheel.
Major service on engine and leg.
De-rust and repaint affected areas (including brake drums) on trailer.
Check wheel bearings / grease on trailer.
