European version of the rear cover panel
08/24/14 4:45 PM

Does anyone have a drawing or better yet pictures and p/n for European version of the rear cover panel? Since there is no space for luggage, I want to install GIVI rear rack but it seems I need to install the European version of the rear cover panel first. If anyone knows another brand of rear rack that doesn't require any modifications, that is even better. Thank you!

Hey OldMan, Did you ever figure this out? I'm considering the same purchase.

Thanks

Buy it from your Kawi dealer. It comes in a kit with an optional accessory called a passenger grab handle. Not sure whether or not they sell that panel separate or if you have to buy the whole kit.

I bought the whole kit. Mine is sitting in a box waiting for when I finally buy a rack.

I think all you really need is the small piece of bodywork on the tail. The US version reaches all the way to the seat. The Euro version stops short, so there's a gap for the grab bar. That gap is what you need in order to install your rack.

Be advised, however. I ordered mine in March (at the dealer) and didn't receive it until August. So, don't wait until the last minute!

I ordered this: "KP-36040-0059-17P 36040-0059-17P COVER-TAIL,CNT,C.L.GR" from partzilla.com and my current order status says: "FedEx Ground Residential Estimated Ship Date 09/19/2014"

That is just the cover, no grab rail. So that's a good thing if it's real.

I also ordered this set up from TwistedTrottle.com

Item No. Product Name Price
Givi V46NT Givi V46NT Tech Monokey Topcase, basic model (ea) - 46 liters/case $269.10
GPT.08.161.15000.B SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Toprack to fit TraX, Givi & Other Topcases for Kawasaki ZX14R / ZZR1400 Ninja '06-'12 $187.50
GPT.00.152.405 SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Topcase Adapter Plate (GIVI / Kappa Monokey) $40.00
GPT.00.152.430 SW-MOTECH Quick-Release Soft Luggage Carrier for ALU-RACK Topracks $66.99

It got here yesterday and I installed it without the tail cover piece. I'll post pictures asap. One thing I didn't know was the you cannot put the passenger seat cover back on the bike, there's no way it'll fit. A little bummed about that but oh well.

Yeah, the euro spec bike doesn't come with the seat cover.

I installed the sw motech rack (great quality) from twisted throttle and a givi 360 top box in my post above. Did not want to pay an extra 2 hundred whatever for the European part so used a dremel tool and a cutoff blade and about 2 hours to slowly cut away till it all fit together right. Got a light kit for the givi coming and I will be set.
