I've asked the dealer and a couple of Kawasaki mechanics about the "ride height adjustment"
that is often listed in the rear shock specifications on the 14.

eg. rebound, compression, preload, ride height [adjustment]....

If the rear ride height is adjusted only by the preload then why do they mention it?
I've googled the hell out of it with no luck. Sure, I can see the linkage at the bottom of the shock
but I figure changing them is not exactly a built-in adjustment....Know what I mean?
I'd like to lift the rear a little to speed up the steering and was hoping to leave the front alone [normal height]

Any ideas much appreciated. It's also really helpful to see what kind of suspension setups people run
for different styles of riding. As for me, I want to make mine more flickable [don't laugh!]....

I think the BT014's will have to go too. Pilot road/power combo could be a good thing.

Dave, there is no ride height adjustment on the 14. Many owners have ask the same thing. To this day I don't understand why it says that in the manual. But it's wrong. The only way to do it is to use adjustable links. They range anywhere in price between 100 and 300 bucks. I was one of the first to use them on the 14 and I paid around a $100.00. Mine only had three settings. The better ones have more.

I thought that might be the story with the rear ride height.
So 'raising links' that don't need to be moved up and down on the shock, and can be adjusted with a spanner
seem to be the go?

Any ideas on a good website to order from? Also, I think the standard rear end raise is 10mm?

As I mentioned on another thread I'll be off to a suspension specialist soon and will be
putting the setup here for all to see.

when lowering the rear did you have to lower the front forks as well. I'm about to purchase a set of lower links as well but i want to make sure it still a level ride without rear end sag.

Are they talking sag adjustments? If you raise the spring tension, when you sit, you still squat the bike. You want quick steer, you keep the spring from compressing so the height is higher on the sit. Play NASCAR with neoprene spring wedges.

Hub if their talking sag, isn't it about 10mm when wearing full gear?

At least that or more on the squat. If you want a sag story, see if you can get 06Blue to rewrite the ride height article if we are discussing sag height as in, 'ride height' being the same thing? I think Rider may have the sag steps, but if you want the quick way I skip a few steps to what I think is the same outcome.

I know i had to add preload on the spring to set the sag correct for me, it was to soft from the factory. Of course Im 250 with gear and had to make some adjustments on the front also.
