Anyone running ECU Flash instead of PCV for fuel
11/29/17 9:55 PM

I reached out to Ivan today and was surprised that he told to do away with the PCV & Auto tune. He explained that he can program the ECU directly, sounds pretty cool. If anyone has run Ivan’s stuff you know he does a great job on all his stuff. Anyone else running ECU only tune? If so who’s? It sounds much simpler and streamlined. Any info would be appreciated!
I saw a post from back in 7/2016 about this but was curious if anyone is running ECU flash/tune combo? There were no replies in over a year, or are the forums totally dead now?

2015 30th Anniversary Edition 14R #250-> Brock's CT Ceramic Coated, Ivan's ECU Flash V2 & Map, Block off plates, HM Strain gauge quickshifter, GPR Damper, Spiegler lines, Muzzy's Sliders, Pazzo levers, Rizoma Next Fluid Tanks, DDM Ultra 5500K HID's Low & Hi, DB Windscreen, Cox Radiator guard, gold titanium bolts... too many to list at this point

What's up Jon? How has Florida been treating you? I'm sure you are having a great time now that you are retired.

It's fricking awesome to do this in this way. A retune covers ignition, fuel, blades, TC, limiters, everything with no extra boxes and wires. The best way is with an experienced shop with a dyno room. The only issue is it isn't adaptable beyond factory parameters. I did it on my 14r because this is my road bike and it's not getting a power adder or anything.

A retune plus slipons was good enough for me to break 189 mph in a half-mile land speed event I went to last month. So, yeah, totally worth it and the bike feels fantastic in normal operation.

My tuner is Nels at 2Wheel Dyno Works in Washington state. Very experienced and helpful crew there.

I always refused to use a PC on bikes I ride long distance as I have seen them fail.
It would be easy to bypass a failed PC if they plugged in between the harness and the ECU but they don't and to access the PC on a 14 on the road requires removing the left side grill, etc...to much of a pita.
I'll be trying one of Ivan's ECU flashes in the near future....weather permitting!
