hyperpro damper with helibar risers
06/21/14 6:23 AM

Not sure if anyone has had this happen pretty sure it has. I ordered and installed the hyperpro steering damper. Fits flawlessly. A few days later I got a set of 3/4" helibar risers. Went to install those. They fit perfect too. However, the damper isn't tall enough after the risers are in. Has anyone come across this? Does anyone have a resolve for this? I'm thinking I might need to manufacture my own spacer? I cannot find someone who has an adapter for this situation. I really want to use both together but is it possible?

I am not 100 on this, but I believe the left side heim joint on the dampener can be re-assembled with a slightly longer rod, allowing the vertical space needed. Does that make sense?

Brock sells a small Helibar Riser Spacer to fix this issue. Part number is #930268. You can find it HERE.

I ordered the hyperpro set up as well and the spacer from Brock's. They are not a match since the spacer is for a different set of dampers and is too long. The result is the bolt that holds the hydraulic rod hits the tank when Turing to the left. Also the cylinder is not level which the mfg stresses is important. Anyone else had this problem? How did you resolve the issue? I'm out $20 for a simple spacer.

This is the finished mount. I will be selling a kit for proper install of this setup which includes a custom made spacer and 3 of the correct size screws to complete the install for the riders who have 3/4 inch Helibar risers. If interested email me at goodguywon@hotmail.com for further info.
