Got your attention!went for a little ride on Sunday with an air hawk 2 on the bike,adjusted the air til it felt like I was sitting on boobies,did 750 km felt like I could go for another 250.Took a bit of getting used to the seat ,when I got into the haliburton area got a little aggressive ,with this seat you have to ride old school,butt planted shift upper body.On certain roads I was 80 to 100 km over the post limit .i was wearin full leathers and didn't get any monkey butt.I found if I slid back and forth on the seat it felt like a firm vagina . The seat cost 180 in Canada.Don't know if the cheaper( less then $100)models would work as well.will be lending it to Romes for a second opinion.Warning:this seat may give you a craving for Taco's for lunch

Thinking about getting one. What's the difference between the 2 and the R?

I have the Airhawk R for my 2012. It is all that they advertise and more. Double the distance riding my motorcycle before feeling like your hind-end is going to fall off.

Everyone thinks that it's just a big air cushion that you fill up like a beach-ball and strap to the seat. That is not the correct way to use it. The proper amount of inflation will just barely be enough to lift your butt off the seats surface, giving you a thin layer of air between you and the bike. This air will move between the various chambers as load is increased or decreased at different parts of the cushion. Think under braking, and in corners...the Airhawk is quietly working its magic to eliminate any and all imperfections. It's like you're riding on AIR!! Lol (which you are) If you follow the instructions and do it this way, you'll be grinning while watching your buddies stand up on the highway because their asses are numb!

I only slap it on if I'm riding long distances, since the OEM 14R seat isn't half bad on its own. The Airhawk R mounted on the bike looks pretty stupid and ugly, but once you sit on it that shit doesn't matter anymore. 100% pure "function" mod, not a beautiful looking "form" mod.

Bought the most expensive one to avoid any regrets.plus one on Bradley's comments. If you don't want it on for twisteys you could put it in your tank bag , back pack or what ever, my leather jacket has provisions for a back protector.I'll have to check if it will fit inside

The Airhawk 2 is made from polyurethane. The R is made from neoprene and costs more. That's the one I went for. Easily doubles your saddle time and mileage without any comfort/soreness issues. Not exactly cheap but small change compared to a custom made gel seat which may not be as good anyway. JMO

Just checked it is the R model I bought,27C here on Friday and Saturday , think Friday is POETS day (piss off early tomorrow's saturday)so will do more testing
