Gutting Catalytic Converter

Im wondering if anyone has ever gutted a header on 2008 model and had good results. It seems to me that it would breath better and run cooler. If you did something like this would you need to remap?

^^^I noticed Hub answered you back on this topic in Performance Upgrades.

Stock pipes should give best all around performance. I am tired of their looks and sound and weight, though. I plan to go with a full system Alien Head and then I will have no cats. I'll be hanging onto the stocks and keeping them fully intact.
