So, I had to remove the smog canister under my seat to make room for the Flatshifter module.
I unplugged the 2 hoses. I plugged off the one with vacuum in it while running, left the other
one open. No other changes. Bike runs as before, smooth, no smoke etc. But I'm not absolutely sure yet, my
mileage has gotten really really bad. Pipe isn't overly black, no fuel leaking under the seat etc
So I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on this ? Maybe leave both canister hoses open ?
Plug both from the purge valve ?

I'm guessing this has more to do with the install of
the new flatshifter and the fun factor then with the removal of the canister.

Fun Factor :) ..You have been off the bike for quite some time...Have you actually tested Mileage by filling and refilling after a ride?

Not yet. It's possible I accidentally reset the trip meter. Going to be checking the mileage soon

Mine has been off the bike for so long, I cannot remember what I plugged, and whether mileage changed. I want to say mileage was the same after removal. Mine was removed in '07 or so.
