I'm in the SF Bay Area and would be up for a get together. There are some good roads around here but traffic can be a problem on weekends. Suggest North of the Golden Gate. Maybe Hwy 36 from the coast to Lassen/ Lake Almanor.

ORO-QUINCY and QUINCY-LAPORTE are always worth the ride and the rest just depends on time and distance riders are comfortable with??

I have often thought Belden Town would make a great place to base a weekend ride . It is on Hwy 70 about half way between Oroville and Quincy. They have cabins and a neet ol bar/resteraunt building.

Yep, did all those roads last fall, and it was flipping great! Belden Town is a VERY cool spot, even if you just stop for a drink or a bite to eat. 70 is a great road too! I will be definitely be up in Monterey in July for World Superbikes (hotel booked, figuring out which tickets to get for the race) and then most likely another NorCal ride in September again, mixing in some different routes. Maybe stage out of SF and ride up the coast and somehow back to SF.
Cheers!

I'll be in Monterey CA by the 7th of May. Riding my trike from east coast to Monterey, then Idaho, then back to Monterey, then Tombstone, Carlsbad, Dallas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, then home for a couple weeks. Back out.

Anyway, on Sunday May 8th I'm leaving Monterey CA at dawn to ride up to Santa Clara and over up into the Santa Clara Mountains. Riding Skyline north to Alice's Restaurant for breakfast.

If any are in the area, come by. I'll have the only red 2016 Tri Glide Ultra there, probably, and hope I can park in the lot at the restaurant, depending on how many are there already.

Hey. You can park across the street at the Skywood Trading Post. Plenty of parking there. I may get up there to say hi and share a cup of coffee with you. Keep us posted as it gets closer.

That would be great, Mad!

Used to park in that strip mall back when only HDs were allowed in the parking lot of Alice's. They meant it too, I saw several sportbikes picked up and set on the street.

Unless something not good happens, I'll be there mid-morning on the 8th of May.

I will be at Alice as well if I am not traveling. With your unique ride, I should be able to spot you easily, especially if it is parked right next to Mad's hot red KingKaw. Have a safe and pleasant trip to West Coast!!

Mad,
Just an official update, will be at SECA again this year with 5 or so friends, (well, technically 4 or so friends + little brother). If you are going, maybe we can grab a beer at the track or in Monterey. We are staying downtown, off Alvarado. We get in Friday early afternoon after strafing Hwy 1, and leave Monday morning for the short hop back to San Diego...

Yeah, our standard issue plan (this year is my 20th Seca trip in a row) is to leave SD on Thursday July 7th, and do about a 450 mile day of mostly bitching roads to end up in Pismo Beach that night. Friday morning, we ride up the coast, stopping for breakfast in Cambria, usually get to Monterey around noon, change, drop off luggage etc and head out to the track. Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday at the track, partying heavily every night in Monterey. Monday am, ride down the 1 to San Luis Obispo, then just drill down the freeway home. We will definitely be at the Turn 12 Bar and Grill early and often while in town, very cool racing themed place, good food, good beer list!

Hi Privateer. If you're still coming to Alices on the 8th, what time do you expect to be there?
Old Man, I'll be there in any case. If Privateer doesn't show up, I'm still up for brekkie and coffee.

Hi Mad,

I will be there as well. I look forward to seeing you.

Regards,

OM

PS. Hopefully other ZX14 riders in this area join us. I know Streetsweeper, Charly and Timo are far away, but there have to be others who ride ZX14 in Bay Area. I have seen a couple of them at least.
