Ive just received my ebay side fairings ready for colour change, the previous owner has removed the glued on sponge, is it needed?

No. I don't know that I would bother to remove it but it won't hurt anything it's not there. It might keep the the stuff under the fairing a little more snug so it doesn't rattle around. I doubt that should be much of a problem.

Yea cant see what it does really, perhaps stop a bit of vibration or noise reduction, anyway not worth worrying about!
