So, We were up at the new house and decided that, rather than take the fast way home, we'd take a small road that goes from Shingletown down the mountain to Manton....
WHOO BOY!!! 9 miles of twisty turns, clean pavement. whoop dee doos and no traffic. Even includes sections of switchbacks like in the Alps. Now I can't WAIT to get my bike up there. Come on retirement!!!

In retirement you need to head east young man:

Shingletown to Manton ... roughly 8 miles:

226A south out of Little Switzerland, NC ... also roughly 8 miles:

Tail of the Dragon ... ~11 miles:

You're not the only one who has to travel from states away to get to these, though

Well, for awhile in CA you could put a dual sport kit on a 4 stroke dirt bike and get it inspected and plated. I think they ended that in 2007. My bike has a Trail Tech Dual Sport kit put on it. Has rear signals, horn etc. Most important I have a valid CA plate. I will make sure to NEVER let that thing expire. I've even seen a couple of 2 stroke bikes plated around here, including a KTM 500 and a CR500. But I think that , technically, a cop could impound those. I used to import 400cc NC30s and TZR/ NSR/ RGV 2 strokes from Japan. We sold them Bill of Sale only but most owners were finding ways to get them plated too.

I don't think I stand a chance of making a dirt bike street legal in the state of Pennsylvania.
