I picked up a Rostra cruise control setup. Have it mostly installed, and initial 'testing' procedure moving along, switch pad seems to work, brake signal/relay, Rostra brake (is getting the signal) diagnostic ok, until the diagnostic for the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). I can not get this part to complete the diagnostic.
I do have the correct wire connector from the Rostra (gray) connected to the pink wire coming off of the Speed sensor, as the instructions call. Continuity is good from the pink sensor wire to the end of the gray, going in to the Rostra. Problem is that the Rostra apparently does not ‘see’ the signal.
I have the dip setting done according to Brians instructions, which are for a Concours 14.

He states he referenced Jim Saeger instructions, here:
http://www.sdb-e.com/RostraGL1100i.pdf
There are 12 dip switches, and the instructions state fo have the switches as:
1-2 all OFF, for ‘gain control’, ‘extra low
3-6 all ON, pulses/mile/kilometer, 38600/24000
7-9 all OFF, 8 cylinder
10 ON, VSS sourse - square wave input, off is sine wave input
11 ON, automatic transmission
12 OFF, Control Switch - open circuit.
Now, I know on the Bazzaz unit, when I connected that gadget, they referenced to connect one of their wires to the vehicles ‘speed’ sensor, and that ended up being the crankshaft (speed) sensor, on the right side of the bike.
The Rostra instructions are pretty explicit about the sensor being the left side, pink wire.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
