Sometimes you look at these videos and wonder how people could crash like that but then something happens to you. On my last ride, I almost rear ended a pickup stopped on the highway for construction and I saw him almost a quarter mile ahead of me. I just thought he was going slow! LOL good thing I was going slow! I locked up the rear for about 50 feet and came to a stop about a foot or two behind him. I guess stupid stuff happens. I definitely don't try to involve others when it does but there is an exhilarating feeling of control to come out of it unscathed.

Had something similar happen.Semi hauling logs was up ahead making a climb up a grade.I was rippin over 100.Saw him ahead.Figured I can 'just go around'...wrong.Car came in the other lane.Had to fully brake.Ended up stopping about 5 feet from the tail.He was moving, just not like I thought he was.Kinda unnerving.Didn't feel like my bike was gonna stop in time.
I noticed a lot of those wrecks are happening when someone goes to make a left, and someone passes on the left.Had that happen also.Passed like 5 cars.Well above 100.The very first cage was turning left. Two lane highway.I didn't see him until he actually started his turn.So I had about 100 something feet to reel my H2 in,and avoid a t-bone.I did,but had I been going any faster,it would have been a real bummer.I try to always watch the side roads when I'm going along and thinking of passing.Well up ahead where I might be making the pass.I never really did that until that happened. It was VERY close.ABS saved it.

...well I'm usually a big pussy when it comes to passing. I always slow down and follow the car a while so hopefully the driver will know I'm there and then I blow past them. Almost never more than one car at a time. Mostly because I want to reduce the chances people will complain to the law where I ride but I guess being a puss has it's other benefits too.

LOL....I 'follow' as well, hoping they see me back there.Good habit actually.Lots of times they'll drift to the right to give me more room.Kinda nice of em.And they'll brake also. But not in front of me.Not yet anyway.PLUS...I've stopped passing people at 130.That also helps with PR.When I start riding again,I'm gonna take things a bit more sensibly.Multicar passes are one of those things I'm gonna be VERY cautious about. It's a thrill, yeah, but pretty risky. All someone in the line needs to do is NOT see you coming up.Then pull out to pass themselves. That happens a lot.I've been REAL fortunate so far.Luck does run out.I think I'm damn close to that happening.
