Reasons to strech your bike
08/12/13 8:22 AM

This thread really is for wolf, I need to say this because of all the people pulling him in one direction or the other about stretching or gearing his bike, I here to say my part and opinion. First off wolf it's YOUR BIKE so only you can do what makes you happy. Now there really is no reason except for 2 things to stretch this perfect bike from the factory. First off I LOVE the look of it period. I have posted numerous pics of it here so you see what it looks like. Now parking mine next to a regular zx14 imo no comparison all. Even the owners of the regular 14 thinks mine usually looks way more racy and meaner. But I only barley have an 6in stretch and with it slightly lowered I think compared to stock it's not really that close. Now reason number 2 for the stretch. If like most street riders like to race against other bikes from time to time I found against CERTAIN bikes out there you might need a lil help. I choose to gear my bike-1+1. Its perfect for roll ons and just straight up more thrust thru the rpms. Now where my opinion matters more than some here is I ACTUALLY have geared and HAVE stretched my bike out. People will tell you it can't turn it sucks etc.....I thought the samething before I ACTUALLY RODE one. If your not riding in very tight stuff it makes a very small difference. Now back to what I have actually felt and raced. If you plan on never gearing this bike at all and don't like the looks of the streched bike well don't strech it. But if you really want some gearing or need it against some bikes out there then you better strech it a lil. People will say you can control the throttle, well of course you can, but that means holding back the throttle untill you can open it fully, and that's not until 3rd gear with gearing. I will tell you I tried not to strech it at first with the gearing but the new 14r is so powerful with it I couldn't go past half throttle until 3rd gear, in which I lost the race by then. I can also tell you from EXPERIENCE that at my light weight with the work done to my bike that I would have lost th9se races against the bmws without my gearing and strech. With them I had the extra jump I needed and was able to give it full throttle right from the go. But to me I'm very competitive, and without those things I could not fathom losing to a 1000 especially kawasakis own zx10, which alot of you would with some of those riders out there. So wolf there you go, it's up to you at the end, but those are the reasons why you should strech or why you shouldn't.

If I had the option of two bikes, me personally, I WOULD STRETCH MY 14R a little to try it! I am down to try most things mechanical. I would keep the ZX-10r as a razor and use the 14 as my missile. BUT, I am a one bike man. And just for me personally I can't do it because of HOW I ride and WHERE I ride. I have ridden 4" and 6" over busa's and it was all about set-up. I made that 4" over corner to the edge of a 200/50-17. She also did fing 8.9's. So, I don't want my negativity over this mod in the past to tweak ur perspective Wolf! Another way to look at it is, it just fing $, and we can always just swap her back, takes about 45 minutes and a six-pack! :))) I can't deny I love the fucking rush of ACCELERATION GIVEN BY A GEARED STRETCHED BIKE. This bike with a 4" and Race tech rear shock would look subtle, handle fine, then drop that bitch -1/+1 !?!?!? Get the fuck outta here! I would fuckin NEED NITROUS! If you go stretch I'll just keep some 2" extensions in my backpack for emergencies! Lol! And ya know what bud, I might try 2" extensions on this bitch just to see what it feels like on launch!

Don't get me wrong guys there is nothing wrong at all with this bike stock. But how I ride is why I got it done. I have said countless times here that from 40-180mph I would race any bike out their without turbo, nitro or engine work and would be just fine. But that's ME. For the area I'm in and what I do with my bike it suits me perfectly. For alot of guys here you just want to enjoy this monster the way it is and don't really care about racing around and besting every bike. For guys like Cblast my bike doesn't make any sense, and he is right, he likes to hardcore corner carve. Where I live at the most is long sweepers at best. And if I wanted to corner carve hardcore I would throw this bike away sooooo quick it wouldn't be funny. I would be on a zx10r set up to the tits. Again wolf that's why it's very dangerous to ask people here what to do with YOUR bike, because your only getting THEIR opinions. Do what you want but from knowing how my bike is set up, unless your going to the dragon once a month, it's hard to beat the looks and pure feel of my 14r..........BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION! !!!!! Hope this helps big man...............WOLFPACK OUT

ZxRacer, big thanks my man, you have given me lots to think about. I'd prefer a nice 6inch stretch like you have on your ride! Going down one and going up one, will give the zx arm tearing power, it will ride completely different. This could be mad great, or it could be mad dangerous (I like to explore limits, I may just find some! I am not too sure I want to play with the gearing yet. I do like owning the street, I do like dusting sucka's, but the ole fashion way of doing it, i.e. weight loss to rider, and a 6inch stretch - I think may be enough! Beast will tell you I love them twisties and throwing the bike around too, so if I compromise there, I might be unhappy with a full swing arm.

But, that said, don't knock it, till you try it! and so the gearing change is still not ruled out entirely!

Ahhhh, so grateful that you boyz are offering up these insights, and I want to think carefully about where I go! I'll probably call you boys and hash this out further,,,

Mad love boyz!

Alright there is 2 things I learned from this thread so far. Wolf your in trouble if beast is doing the gearing and streching. I was hoping for your sake he didn't see this thread!!!! 2, if your going to strech this beast you've got to try that gearing combo. Its like putting on nitro tanks for looks but saying nahhhhhh I don't need it!! If your streching for the looks I'll tell you in person you will love it. Especially if you ever decide to custom paint it someday. You ever need to bounce somethings off my head, which is easier than going back and forth here, you know my number..........Again WolfPack Out. And one more thing about something you said, the gearing is nice but don't think -1+1 is going to make the bike THAT much different, to where you don't like it. It just adds a nice solid pull thru the gears. But yes on stock length it would flip your bike over in first and second on full throttle. But then again take your bike now without gearing and try that shit in first and you'll be on your back.

I loan out red to some of my friends. In my life I have had 3 red heads. All with pale skin, one blue eyed, one green and one a combi. I have a thing for red heads. Maybe it's from the fable. Weird every time I see a pig I want to blow their doors off. So cliche I know!

There is no race, nor description that I have not bed
In your ear, little red, I whispered we will be wed
Together I spoon you my dear, your voice is mine,
That soft whisper, I still can hear

Why I let little riding go, it may be soft, that I know
I fell for her, she wrecked my power, pollinate I took her flower
Like cocaine dust candy she consumed my tower, had her bags packed within the hour!
Kicked to the curb she did go, like a hooker used a sunken whoe

For my manly prowess I still possessed, even if she did protest
Out she went, no more red, no freckled back, or pale forehead
Her auburn hair, draped like a shower, he face so beautiful I'd die without her
For these reasons she had to go, cannot change a housewife into a whoe,

Too young I was to appreciate, her delicious cooking, for God's sake
And never more, did red I see, I often cry myself to sleep
Her soft pink rose, I will not touch, all because I was so rough
Could have been did not arrive, would have, should have, had to die
Little Red is my favorite meal, 200 an hour is my current deal!
