Flat tyre
11/03/18 5:54 AM

Hi Guys
Just wondering, I have one of those co2 wick and glue puncture repair kits but all the you tube vids i seen put the bike on a centre stand to repair the flat.
Well obviously we dont have a centre stand so do you improvise or just do it on the side stand.

Many thanks Maddy

Always good to know how before it happens .

Side stand is fine.

While some people are fine to ride with the tire plugged, I wouldn't much longer than necessary and get a "new" tire.

I roll the wheel to where the hole is. Chase the hole with the first tool, lace the rope rope with the second tool, use vaseline, lip balm, for lube on the tip and the V at the rope, push it in the hole, pull the tool, razor the rope and leave a millimeter or two when I slice the excess off.

If it's just a nail, I'll salvage the tire and have used both the front and rear repairs without any loss of tire integrity. Both car and bike tires have lasted thru their lifetime.

G'Day Maddy,

Just be a little wary as if a bike is on its side stand and the rear goes completely flat it can tip over the other way.
Not sure if a 14 will do that but I know others can...
