Found a very low mileage 2013 zx14r, less than 300 miles to be more specific, wanted some opinions on it. Completely stock and nothing wrong with it that I can see from the pics posted, my concerns is, that engine barely got broke in and then sat as long as it has, worth taking a look at or do I keep looking? Thanks for your opinions in advance.

My first question would be..why is it up for sale with 300- miles?
And I don't think it sitting partially through break-in would harm anything(if anyone knows about this sort of deal,I hope they'll chime in).I'd change the oil,inspect for any particles(metal chips and such)and complete the breakin if the oil appears okay.And listen carefully to the idle.Making sure it's steady and not making strange noises or vibrations.You might hear the cam chain at startup for a few seconds.That's normal.
Pay close attention to the response of the seller when you ask them that question.It could be very simply they didn't like it.Definitely check the bike over to see if it was dropped or anything.Bar ends scraped,levers scraped.Bodywork scraped anywhere.Exhaust scraped at all?They may have decided it was too much bike for em.Maybe check the VIN number...make sure it's on the up and up.
It's a bit odd getting rid of it with those miles,but people change their minds sometimes.Wouldn't be unheard of.
You might also check the tires.The sidewalls.Are they scuffed or damaged in any way?Like it hit a curb or something?Maybe check under the exhaust and see if it has been damaged,like it ran over something and hit the pipes.When sitting on it,are the bars right?No tweaking or anything?No oil drips or anything under the motor?ABS working okay?It should have an orange icon on the dash,then it'll go out once you start moving away(3-5 mph).
Sounds like a decent deal.How much?

It might have been purchased a few years after 2013.

I think the Gen2 has the mileage stored in the ECU so a simple instrument cluster swap would not be a way to fake the mileage.

I'd still pitch a low price. If a new one is three thousand more dollars, might as well get that instead. If you keep the bike a long time, a few thousand bucks won't matter much.

Ride it before you buy it, have it checked by a good mechanic.

IMO,that bike is virtually brand new.But used.Don't go for a 'new bike' price.Blue book it yourself then decide.If the price is good,I wouldn't have any problem getting it.Better than paying dealer price for a brand new one.That's my take.

Even with low miles a 8 yr old 14R is worth ~8-9$K if he can find a buyer. Unfortunately for us these bikes dont hold their value.

As far as sitting, the battery probably needs to be replaced and the fuel is shit and injectors hopefully only need a good cleaning from a pro like Mr Injector (maybe u get lucky with a can of BG 44K)

They have a pretty enticing price listed at a cool 7500, well under new bike pricing. Good info grn14, I've bought used bikes before so I know the usual suspects to check but never bought one with under 500 miles on it. Went back and checked the ad, 170 miles is what the ad says. I have found a few bikes out here that have really low miles on them. I was just curious if anyone had any idea on if it was a steer clear thing or take a closer look thing.

I think I would take a real close look to make sure it wasn't crashed and repaired. Ask to take a few faring's off to see their reaction and take a closer look at stuff that may have been covered up with new plastic from an insurance settlement? Maybe consider an good independent shop perform a pre-purchase inspection at your cost. Seems like the price is right if the bike is solid or even needs a bit of TLC.

Oddly enough the low mileage one I found sold pretty fast, after talking to the seller I didn't have a good feeling about it, not sure why just didn't. However, I did find a 2013 Red with 4600 miles on it. Owned by an older Gentleman that put full akra exhaust on it and got a tune done by Ivan. Really clean looking. If all goes well I should pick it up this week or next! I will throw some pics up after I get her home.

2013 zx14r. Got her with less than 4600 on the clock. The bike was immaculate and could have easily been confused with showroom condition. Full akra exhaust with Ivan's tube, she is super smooth!
