I keep reading in road test reports that the LCD display on the ZX-14R can be changed from a dark backround and light lettering to light background and dark letting, but I must have missed the "how to" in the user manual. How do you do it?

Key on--Hold (L) top button and wait for change.
To return = Repeat the hold down top left button.

Sure a lot I dont know ....I have a tuff time reading the dash most daylight hours . Mine is set on Lite background.. Gonna have to try that , thanks Hub..and Jim for asking ..

I asked because I too was having a hard time reading the dash in its default setting! The reverse setting works GREAT for me! :)

I have a big problem now .. Just sent my ecu off for a new flash to match new exhaust and won't have it back for a few days..Here comes that old " patience " thing again :)

I tried this Hub but must have f'd up as usual, which L top button again? I tried the upper toggle/button of the multi-function switch, the Select button and nothing happened ... Just read thru the User manual and the SM and did not find anything on this hack.

The user manual instructions, at least in the manual for the Gen 2 bikes (page 65),is not very clear. Try this:

1. You need to have one of the "upper" display items selected at the time (e.g. Outside temp, Battery voltage, Range, etc). i.e. press the upper button briefly to ensure that is where you are at the moment.

2. Then press and HOLD the upper button for at least 2 full seconds

Watch the display while doing so. The display should then "reverse" to the other setting.

Let go of the button when it does.

that feature is only available from 2015 or 2016 models on and later.
I also would like to have that option. Maybe a good flasher can upgrade our 2012+ models ?!
