zx14 sound

I currently own a 2012 cbr1000rr and ninja650. I am strongly considering selling my 650 and purchasing a 2013 zx14, I had two questions I was hoping soem current owners could help me with. I hear the zx14 is somewhat quiet and doesn't sound all that impressive, with an aftermarket full exhaust system will it sound even close to as nice as a litrebike? Second question, how comfortable are you guys finding the 2012-14 zx14 for longer trips? On anything 44.5 hrs + my cbr is extremely uncomfortable, the 650 I would give a 6/10 in terms of comfort on a longer trip.

Any input would be helpful, thanks

The stock sound is almost electric sounding. But I think even stock it does sound cool

but with a full aftermarket exhaust you can get a very deep throaty sound, especially if you go with the dual system

Roars in stereo!

the bike is very comfortable on long rides; great touring bike

Anything with stock exhaust will be fairly quiet. Mine with aftermarket exhaust sounds way deeper, and throatier than my ZX10R did with the same muzzy exhaust. As far as long trips? Well that's really just opinion, as some people have no problems, while others do. If I ever take mine on more than an hour ride, I'll be investing in a throttle lock, and a more comfortable seat.

I think you will miss the 13k scream of your 600.

I can ride a hundred miles before I feel like i would like to get off and stretch.

THe speed run atthe end is with a 45T rear sprocket so top speed is not achievable. Shows you what 10k sounds like. redline is 11k.

idle and revs

I hope these post for you. Something is going weird with my Youtube embedding.

This thing can tour. I'm about home from a 3000+ mile round trip from Minnesota to NYC and back again on a basically stock riding position setup plus a throttle lock.

I think the stock sound becomes impressive at high RPMs. Starts off like a sewing machine but then builds to a hulk-roar. I like it.

if your 650 is a 6 out of a 10, I'm not sure you will like this for long tours, the 650R I sat on a couple
weeks ago, was much more upright than the 14R, even though this is labeled a sport/tourer (by some) it still
leans forward pretty aggressively .....

That being said, if I had to do all over again, I would get a Muzzy M10, an ECU flash, a 55 profile rear
tire, and a front to match, Michelin Pilot Road 4, set up your suspension, or have a pro do it while you
are sitting on the bike, and maybe look into some bar risers or LSR setup ?

You really won't need to do much more unless it's cosmetic or personal preference, this bike in my
honest opinion, is one the finest bikes I have ever ridden, and this is coming from a life long
Suzuki fan .... just my 2 cents ...
