WTF? my bike keeps on hissing at me

What is the point of a tank vent if it allows the tank to be in a vacuum so long......I finally got sick of listening to it and opened the damn thing and it sucked in air big time.
I heard this is normal.....is it?
and if not is the little nipple on the back of the fuel tank the vent? I have a small hose hooked to it, could the other end be kinked or plugged?

Hissing noise from fuel cap.

cool I can dig a bike that hisses at me.....like the 1st gear clunk. It is a constant reminder that I maned up and ride a beast.

Put an EvoTec gas cap on there. Or LighTec. I've never heard mine hiss. It may go away on its own. Mine expelled a wad of goo with some gasoline under the vent hose after a long hot ride. They pack them with wax to seal the tank from condensation while waiting for sale.
