Ok, so I think the heavy front end is completly gone. Feels 100% normal again, but it has been 8 months since ive ridden. Raised it up about 1/4 of an inch up front, and also bumped up the tire pressure. It was about 4 lbs low from where I normally keep it yesterday when I was out. Normally about 35, yesterday was about 31. But either way, bike feels amazing now.

Can you feel any lag in the bottom ? Please say no. The 28 series turbo comes in early so I can't see it being a big issue.

Right now, im trying to stay out of boost. Let me get the fine tune/full boost tune done and ill have a better answer for that. Right now it seems around 3500-3700 it does want to make boost and start moving faster. Really about the only time you are below 3500 is off the line, and normal riding, im still pulling away from traffic with at ease off the line, like a normal 14 would. lol

I was out on the interstate yesterday, and at higher speeds, just cruising, it seems to want to float around 0-1 lb of boost though.

Do you have an exhaust on yours? Or just a 8inch pipe? lol

So basically just a longer pipe. Still no type of sound deadening.

Normally I ride with ear plugs, but I havent been lately because I want to keep a close eye on the bike. Maybe once I start wearing them again I wont mind so much. lol

Yes this pipe has a baffel that I repack every year.

Long rides = I hate it. I too wear ear plugs.

Yea, im gonna wait and see how it does with my ear plugs in. My turbo setup is opposite of yours, my exhaust is on the left side, and im not sure there is enough room to redo the exhaust pipe and keep it inside the fairing, and then run it back like you did.

Definitely not. The 2871 has a big compressor. It will work if you remove oil cooler and replace with Block off plate. New Header, not worth it now.

RE: My Turbo ZX-14 Build.

Just realized I havent been updating this. I rode it around for 2 weeks or so on the base map, just babying it everywhere. He was having a bunch of computer issues with his dyno, they sent him a new program, everything seemed to be working fine, so I went in for my final tune.

He worked on the tune for awhile, did 2 WOT pulls, and then the computer locked up on him again. (whole new computer is now on the way) He still went ahead and continued with Wideband tuning, but no dyno numbers after those 2 pulls. 2 pull was nice and smooth, still pretty rich at that point, and did 277whp/136wtq. This is only on the 6psi spring the kit came with too. He was pretty shocked. He said he was only expecting about 260 on 6lbs, but with the port and polished head, degreed cams and so on, he said hes not going to argue it either. lol I do plan on going back in a week or so when hes got the new computer all set up. His old computer went completely blank, and wouldnt even recognize his hard drive, he was livid, he might of lost ALL of the tune files hes made over the last 5-6 years on that dyno. Supposedly they said they will be able to pull them back off onto another computer, but hes not happy for now.

I have had a little bit of smoke pop up twice on me shortly after starting the bike, so I am looking into scavenge pumps. I also make a 90 off the turbo, so the hose doesnt drop down and back up like it use to, to see if that helps for the time being.

Bike runs smooth as hell, pulls HARD, and feels very tame. With the +1 front, and being about 8inchs longer right now, it feels less scary than my old setup with nitrous (-1 front and stock wheel base). That was a wheelie monster, and I had to shift a lot faster.

Im kinda torn on if im going to go back to the stock front sprocket. Right now if I want to do a 60mph run, I need to go to 2nd gear and it puts me around 6k rpms, and it pulls like a freight train, so I love it. But if im only doing about 70-75 on the highway, its kinda low of an rpm for 6th, and I almost like being in 5th more if there is traffic around me. I dont mind 6th at 70 if im out in the middle of nowhere. When I go back in a week or so, I may have him make me a map for the stock front sprocket as well, so I can test it out. I wont truely know which one I like better on this setup, until I try them. But at the same time, we might also bump it up to 8lbs as well (actually the spring says its a 8.5 to be specific), so I have a tune for that also. Who know, I might prefer stock front with only 6lbs, but +1 front when Im on 8lbs.

All in all, LOVE it. Im gonna order a new gasket for the clutch cover though, Im getting a little "tiny" bit of condensation. So I may swap that out when I change the oil here shortly.

Just yesterday I trimmed the lower fairings for it, and put those back on. Ive been leaving them off, so I can keep a close eye on everything.

Im not talking smack to anybody right now, we are still working on it, and im still getting used to everything. Even after that, I cant even say ill still ever talk crap. I go out and play around with friends, but I really dont give a crap about racing people. This type of stuff is all about me. I dont do it to impress anybody, or beat anybody.

Theres still a list of small stuff I want to do, and it still needs to go back for a double check on the tune once the new computer shows up, and possibly more boost. :)

Now were talking. Tune to max power, then back up one pound. Your wrist will do the rest. Sorry, slipped out lol.

Thats basically what he wants to do. I have several wastegate springs, so even if for some reason I wanted WOT to only be 6lbs without using wrist control, I could just drop in a different spring. But lets be real, even though this is a new world of power for me, I am a very level headed rider, and will probably leave the higher boost spring in it at all times. lol

I knew you would lol If your like the rest of us gear heads, Once the money is spent you want AALLLLLL that you paid for.

My pistons, rods and rods have arrived. Still waiting on studs. This thread of yours is costing me a small fortune lol

I'm looking forward to learning where your tuner brings this bike as my build will be exactly the same. 15 lbs ?????

Kolk1, what kind of ducts are those you have pictured on p2? Looks like that British brand. I did not think those were available in the US. How do you like ...compared to the more common Factory Pro Velocity stacks?

those are just like the British ones I saw available in blue or red annodized finish....very similar copy in this ad as the British site I was reading. They make no definite hp increase claims. No doubt the o-ring seal to the air box and the strap clamps to the Tbodies is best to seal your intake for turbo.... Which do we like for natural aspiration/non-turbo/ occasional N2o use? Factory Pro or Orient Express?

NA and Nitrous you dont need to seal them, just with Boost since your are pressurizing the system.

Romans is correct, they came with my Orient Express/Velocity Racing turbo kit.

The dyno computer is all fixed, but right now im slammed at work since there is only 3 of us to begin with and one guy is out for 10 days. So hopefully next week I can get back in for final numbers, and yes we are going to put the 8.5lb wastegate spring in to see what it can do.
