Anyone trade their ZX14R for a H2SXSE

Im thinking of trading in my 2017 ZX14R for a 2018 H2SXSE and was wondering if anyone has made this move and if so your thoughts on the H2SXSE compared to the ZX14R. I'd like to get a more upright riding position and I like the factory bags option as well as quick shifter, TFT dash and center stand on the H2SXSE. A quick search of cycle trader revealed several H2SXSE discounted up to 2500 dollars which makes the bike affordable.

You need to find one you can ride.I rode one.I can't really say + or -.Just depends on what you feel like on it.It is well built.Solid.

i thought about it, my 2013 zx14rse with the lowered knights design foot pegs, and lsl speiglar bars, feels great. This year i rode to world superbike at Laguna seca about 200 hundred miles one way, got there got situated walked over to the factory kawasaki rig and sat on the h2sxe and dam it felt horrible. Im 5,7 and my legs cramped soon as i sat on it. I thought f that my 14r is freakin way more bitchen.

I've sat on the H2SX a few times and feel comfortable on it but it seems test rides are a bit more difficult to come by. One shop offered a test ride but only if I committed to buying the bike. My biggest question is if the H2SX is superior enough to justify trading in the ZX14R.

My thoughts on the sex versus 14R, less torque and almost the same weight. The bike as a 1000 should be at least 20-40 kilos lighter.

Way more expensive , more exclusive but the 14R with higher bars ( up to LSL kits) and lower pegs with sw motech

carriers and Givi bags IMHO is way better value.

I actually have been looking and interested in buy one myself. I have sat on one and compared the seating position to a zx14 sitting next to it. I've been on more sporty aggressive bikes as far as seating position. the more up rite seating position is something i'd really have to get used to. I'd probally prefer the more aggressive riding angle of the lower bars of the zx14 or H2.

HaHa, good question!

I believe the H2 SX does not have a lot more power than the ZX-14R but it is lighter.

I would suggest you just get a normal Ninja 1000 SX and keep your ZX-14R. You will have a more polarized bike collection. They're both great bikes, it's a tough choice and a very personal one based on your tastes...

If you like Sport Touring, I am of the opinion that the ZX-14 is bigger, longer, and more suited to trips. If you want to do canyon carving, city riding, etc., the H2 SX might be better, but then you wouldn't really need the Supercharged power.

So that is why I suggest the Ninja 1000, or even the Ninja 650. There is no way to pick one bike over the other, just get them both, avoid overlap and have them focused on different purposes.

Actually I'm on the fence between the h2 and the h2 sxse and the 2016+ zx10r. At my age of 56 im looking at different things. I have a 06 zx10 that is my track/street bike and I also 2 zx14r's , one lowered /stretched for dragon racing , which I don't much time to do, and a stock length zx14r that i use when the wife wants to go on rides. 2 of the current bikes will have to go If i decide to upgrade So basically I'm looking at the new 2016+ zx10r or the h2 or h2 sxse as replacements.

I looked at the Ninja 1000 when I was searching for a second bike, test rode one and it really didn't do anything to inspire me to make a purchase. I was looking for a second bike to complement my BMW K16GTLE and the 1000 just didn't provide enough performance. Initially I hadn't considered the ZX14R when I looked at the 1000 but the more I looked at the ZX14R, the more research I did on the ZX14R the more I knew it was my next bike. The dealership I bought my ZX14R from had a 2017 ZX14R SE marked down to 11700 and with my 500 dollar coupon I paid 11200 plus tax, tags etc which was just a few hundred more than the cost of the Ninja 1000.

I really want a H2SXSE but I think for now I'm going to hold on to my 2017 ZX14R. From everything I've learned the H2SX is a great bike but I don't think it provides enough performance upgrades over my ZX14R to justify the 22K price tag. I can add panniers to my ZX14R for around a grand, add bar risers and a peg lowering kit and essentially have a H2SX minus the electronic upgrades. My ZX14R is paid for and I'm not all that eager to jump back into debt so for a while at least I'll be satisfied with the ZX14R.

The SE+ is the only one to consider, I dont think they made them in 2018.

The electronic suspension is a game changer, I had it on my 2015 BMW S1000R

I did.In 2020.Plus my 2015 H2 as well.The SE+ is the way to go with this bike.Multiple suspension settings which require no tools.You would need an allen for the front preload if you decidied to adjust that.Not really necessary though.All preloads can be electronically adjusted at the switchgear.
It weighs in at I think 565 wet stock.I've replaced the can and some body parts along the way,so I think it's probably down around 530 or something.Not bad.
The seat works for some.It didn't for me.Kawasaki always angles these seats towards the nose.I need a horizontal seat position.Which I have after reshaping.
It's VERY smooth.VERY nimble.QS and autoblip work really well.I added an RSC hyperpro damper just for making sure the frontend stays put.Works excellent.
Have a Brock's flash and tune.Yoshi Alpha exhaust.Quiet but will bark in the gas.
Power delivery is smooth and predictable.50+mpg @ 65-70 mph.
I'm happy with it.The 14 is a great bike as well...mainly it comes down to supercharged or not.I like the supercharger.But the 14 is certainly fully capable and a great long distance ride.It's a toss up really.Both have outstanding rideability.
I added murphs bar risers and a Zero Gravity touring screen.Basically to protect my GoPro cam lenses from getting covered with bugs.
Can't beat the cruise control or heated grips.
I like the styling more than my 14.It's quite different.But it fits the heart of the bike.The supercharger will get ya goin quicker than a 14 n/a bike.But they're both great.
And it does have 'wheely control' in the KTRC mode(1).It needs it for sure
Personally I like the quickness of this bike.It transitions great and loves to lean.The quick acelleration makes passing a dream.I think it's more stable than my 14 for sure.

So now after 7K+ miles,I can say she's a keeper for sure.No regrets trading.I've just recently installed a full Brock's system on her,no cats in there.Brock's flash and tune also.Penta carbon muffler.Haven't been able to ride her yet with this setup,but she sounds great.Weight has of course dropped even more,so I'll reweigh her come spring.Added a zero gravity Corsa screen which works really well.Removed centerstand so that's several lbs right there.I'm excited to take her out.I could tell with the full system and tune the throttle response was noticeably sharper.
No idea on the HP or TQ.And don't really care.I got a reshaped sargeants seat and bar risers.All look factory.Made a nice difference.Removed the mirrors and added leds(flush turn signals) in their place which really smooths out the shape of the front.Installed CRG arrows on there.
I'd say if one wants to do a bit of modding,this bike handles it really well.
The fuel mileage is why I changed mainly.And she's not disappointed me in that,or anything else.50+ mpg at 65-75 mph.So the range is very acceptable.
Handling is VERY sharp and flickable.I'd say moreso than my 14r.The electronic suspension when setup to my personal preferences is without question a real upgrade from manual suspensions.The fact that the bike settings can be accessed through my phone and adjusted on the road is a great convienience.No tools required and MULTIPLE settings and modes.The active suspension really works.Not for everyone this bike.But for me a good upgrade from my beloved 14 and H2.Which were BOTH awesome bikes.It's close enough to have that familiar 14 feel,but exciting beyond the 14 and in a niche of it's own.It does handle quicker than my 14.And rides curves and such with noticebly more feeling of stability.

I am selling my highly modded 14R to a buddy, just pulled the trigger on a 2018 H2 SX SE with full brocks system and cyclenut flash.

240 at the wheel and 25 less pounds of shit on the bike.

Havent ridden it much as it is in florida and I am in Ricky
