Exhaust/Flash
07/11/16 9:55 AM

Please forgive me if this has been beaten to death but I cant seem to get a definitive answer so here it goes. I am looking at either a Voodoo shorty exhaust or Coffman shorty exhaust. What if any flash do I need? I have a bone stock 2015 ZX14R with 100 miles so far. My last bike was an FZ09 and without a flash it would burn your exhaust valves from running too lean if a different exhaust was put on. That is my only experience with modding bikes so far.

I went with the Brock's Alien Head 2 exhaust and the PCV route (no flash). The transformation was amazing-- performance wise and esthetically. The sound is a deep roar that demands respect.

There are lots of threads on this but I couldn't find any newer ones. They were usually a year or two old. I would also like to know who everybody prefers currently for a flash. BTW I just put the Coffman's on mine last week and love them!

T Man,

You dont need a flash, the different exhaust wont hurt the bike but without it there is no benefit in performance (and some may argue none to gain anyway). A good way to go is get the pipes you want then get the ECU flashed in the future or a PC V and a dyno tune in the future
