Hit a deer
07/24/15 12:53 PM

Last night, just after dark I hit a deer. I was going 50, a few hundred feet behind a cop when a big doe committed suicide. I don't remember what happened for the next 15-20 minutes, but I I'm sitting in ICU with 6 broken ribs, a punctured lung, broken clavicle and a lacerated liver. Don't know how the bike is, but the deer is dead...

Finally home from the hospital. Here are some pics that my daughter took. The Deer, the skidmark, and the bike. The resolution on the bike pic is really low due to her old phone camera, but I'll get some better pics soon.

Here's some pics I took tonight. The salvage company is coming for the bike tomorrow. It will be sad to see her go. Oh well, on to the next one...

Getting better every day. I stopped taking pain meds a few weeks ago because without the pain I try to do too much. A little pain is good, tells me my limits. I think all of my ribs have knitted back together because I can't feel them popping anymore. My clavicle is good now with the plate and screws in there. I have great range of motion of my right arm now, and my punctured lung is healed. Now just need some time and a little physical therapy and should be back to work.

Traveling this week to pick up my new, 2015 ZX14R. Going Green this time :) Hopefully the dear will fear bright green lol. Planning to pick it up on Thursday, should have pics soon. Back to work next Monday!

I've been riding my daughter's Suzuki Savage around town the past couple weeks, the Ducati is too hard on the shoulder, and my VFR is down with an electrical problem.
